IT ALL STARTED when Dami and Nari (and, by extension, Min Ho and Ha Yun) decided to spend New Year's together in America since their newest horror movie was ending.
Their mothers had gotten dressed up prettily like usual and gone to a party, leaving Min Ho and Ha Yun alone since they didn't know anyone at the party.
Ha Yun was dressed in a white long-sleeve cuff shirt that hung off her skinny and small frame tucked into a short pink plaid skirt. Her long black acrylics clicked against her phone screen - the newest model because she wouldn't accept anything else - as she scrolled through her friend's Instagram posts. She liked Yuri's latest post, she was dressed in a beautiful pink dress, and Juliana's arm swung around her.
"Can you stop that insistent noise?" an annoyed Min Ho asked, looking up from the fillet mignon he was cooking for the long black-haired girl sitting in his kitchen.
"Can you stop listening?" she snarked back, not even looking up at him.
He rolled his eyes and asked sarcastically, "Can you stop breathing?"
She let out an annoyed, fake laugh, looked up at him, and said. "Then you would miss out on the beauty that is me."
He rolled his eyes, looked her up and down, raised a brow, and asked, "What beauty?"
She clutched her pearls, let out an offended huff, and told him, "You wouldn't know what beauty was, anyways, you heathen."
"Whatever, get on my level Minny," he said, looking back at the dinner he had so graciously cooked for them. He knew the nickname would piss her off more than any insult.
"Stop calling me that!" she hissed, standing up from the chair, looked up at him and cursed his annoying British height and accent.
He just whistled aloud, acting like he couldn't hear her. She huffed, walked to the alcohol cupboard, and poured herself a drink, "You are the cause of my drinking problem!" she yelled at him, and he just laughed.
Ha Yun didn't really have a drinking problem; she was just like any other teenage, wanting to have a fun time, especially since she was in America and not Korea. Korea was so strict especially with underage drinking and it was a bad idea with all the publicity there. But she was at home, and there was no paparazzi to hide from.
She poured vodka into the expensive glass cup, walked into the kitchen, grabbed the lemonade from the fridge, and poured some in; she ignored Min's (usual) disgusted face. He was very against any other drink besides water and wine.
He watched with a raised eyebrow as he watched her scull the drink and told her, "We're not in Australia Minny."
She rolled her eyes and poured herself another drink, and sipped it. She missed Australia and how lax it was with anything; it was so different from America or Korea, and she missed the summer heat and the beaches.
"Is it ready?" she asked not replying and returning to her spot, watching him make the sauce just for the steak. She didn't say anything about the dish being her favourite because she knew Min Ho knew, and she knew if she tried to tease him, he would eat it all and never let her get any. He had done it before; it was a tradition for him to make Filet Mignon every New Year.
Ha Yun never told him, but it was the best steak she ever had, and he had ruined any other chef's steak, but he knew it from the sparkle in her eyes when she took the first bite and simply sunk into the chair with a light moan.
