"But soon is never soon enough." Tala sighed deeply.
Will smiled and said.
"Yeah, it never is."
But even though he was smiling, Tala felt the whole scene go serious.
"You seem tense all of a sudden." Tala looked over at him.
"Yeah, just thinking, do you think Star likes me?" He blushed but didn't really let it show.
"Yes, I think she does."
"Why?" Tala asked but she already knew the answer.
"No reason..." He went even redder.
Vespera laid her head in Tala's lap and Tala started rubbing her behind the ears.
"She so beautiful....." Tala smiled.
"Yeah." Will answered.
"Thánk florgí." Tala whispered.
(Good night.)
"Glírang iní tomu plastu inü glírance janjío." Will stated.
(She is the last of her kind.)
No one had seen a unicorn, much less a silver one for hundreds of years, that wasn't surprising at all.
"You can speak my language." Tala said shocked.
"Yep, so does Star and Mark. Star learned it one day and taught us." Will replied.
Tala smiled and ran her fingers though Vespera's hair one last time before jumping off the rails.
"Going back inside?" Will jumped down too.
"I guess, I don't think, oh I left something outside, really worked." Tala said sarcastically.
"Yeah, you're not a very good lair." Will pointed out.
"Hey!"
"No offense."
"Offense takin'!"
Will smiled but did a face palm.
"Am I really that stupid?" Tala whined.
"No, you're just......weird." Will had to think of a word for a while.
"Gee thanks, way to win a girls heart over." Tala joked.
"Hey I don't do that to Star." Will countered.
"So just me?" Tala smirked.
Will sighed again, he was just making this awkward.
"Hey let's go in, it's freezing out her." Will broke the silence.
"Yeah." Tala pretended to shiver but really she wasn't cold even though she had a short-sleeve shirt on.
Will started walking back and Tala followed.
"What do I say?"
Tala asked.
"I don't know."
"Don't leave me in the dark!"
"I really don't know."
"Amazing pep-talk coach!" Tala patted him on the back.
"I know." Will smirked.------------------------------------------------------
Tala sat back down in her chair and took a deep breath.
"Did you find what you were looking for?" Star's mother asked.
"Yes I did thank you." Tala answered hoping no one would ask what it was. But just to her luck Star's father did the honors.
"What were you looking for?"
Tala panicked inside.
"I um....found......I found my........um strength."
Mark looked up from his plate a little confused.
"Strength?" He half whispered.
"I was a little scared that y'all would kill me. Just 'cause my father you know...." Tala didn't finish the sentence.
"And I just needed to clear my mind and realize that no one could be as selfish and cruel as my father. Sometimes I wonder if I really am related." Tala said softly.
Star looked over at Tala a little worried but her eyes softened.
"I just want you all to know that I am terribly sorry for what my father did I had no idea. I know me apologizing isn't the same as my father's apology, but my father has too much pride." Tala said.
"My dear......." Star's mother started but didn't know how to finish.
"I know that you guys don't like me every much, that is okay. But I want you to know that I would do anything to make it up to you."
"Can you bring my son back?" Star's father asked.
