Eric sat alone, freezing in the cold prison.
Shackles held his hands and feet.
He had not eaten for two days now and had little energy left. Trying to sleep, but not able to because of the pain of the shackles cutting into skin and rubbing it raw.
Shaking the bugs and rats away Eric grimmest in pain as the shackles rubbed against his bare skin.
Just as Eric about fell into a light sleep the door slammed open and the king walked over to Eric.
"You have some explaining to do." Eric spat.
The king laughed and smiled.
"It all started with the war twelve years ago, you vampires thought you were fighting humans-"
"We were fighting humans! I was there so don't go telling lies!" Eric yelled.
"You THOUGHT you were fighting humans. But my kind killed every last human down to the last woman and child." The king smiled proudly.
"Monster......should've know that you weren't my father!" Eric cursed.
The king laughed and looked at Eric.
"You must be thinking, if you weren't fighting humans then what were you fighting?" The king asked for Eric.
Eric nodded coldly but kept his cool.
"I am a shape changer." (I know it's a shapeshifter but I want to make it original)
Eric laughed and smiled.
"Wow your funny! Haha! You are such a liar! This is just.....can't take it!" Eric was laughing so hard.
"What is so funny?" The king asked.
"The fact that you don't know that my father and grandfather killed all of the shape changers 60 years ago!" Eric's tone changed but the smile didn't leave his face.
"Well, now this is where you are lying." The king smiled.
"How?" Eric spat.
"Well you see they didn't kill all of us." The king started. "The day that your father and grandfather came and destroy us, a few ran and hid. The ones who didn't simply died. There were only about 10 of us and we went into hiding for 50 years, and during that time we regained in numbers.
The past 12 years we have been on the move."
"So then what really happened to my father?" Eric asked but at the same time he really didn't want to know.
"Well you see Eric everyone has a time to leave and for your dear father and mother it was at battle near Adíone." The king answered.
"I really do hate you." Eric spat.
"Hate is a strong word there lad." The king put his hand up in defense.
"I know." Eric smirked.
"Anyways," the king went on. "We inclined in numbers so much that we decided to whip out the human population. So we did, my son, whom your mother killed protecting you, said that we should have a war with the pureblood vampires. It was a genius idea because we knew that you wouldn't think very high of the humans and it would be an easy battle and it was. So were shifted into what the humans looked like and had the war with you. Now this brings us to 12 years ago, when the war was over, we each found a dead person and changed into what they looked like so it was like they never really died. I changed into your father and many of the guard that you have seen around the castle are shape changers."
Eric remained silent because he couldn't think of anything to say, the life he was living was a lie, nothing but a pure lie.
"I hated your sister because she was so outgoing and beautiful and everything anyone would want. I knew she was going to be trouble when she grew up so I locked her up. The fact that she wasn't scared of that little boy in the forest told me that she would be a big set back to my plan. If she did escape and cross the barrier to the village were the "savages" live then I know she would be seen as a leader." The king growled.
"So she's a better leader than you get over it." Eric stated.
The king back-handed Eric across the face.
"Don't talk to me that way!"
Eric rolled his eyes.
"There are two young boys over there and a girl named Star, you have already met her but not the others. When I raided their village I saw the two boys showing great leadership and that scared me. As for Star she is so nice that she will make anyone smile, a person like that is never to be trusted if you're the bad guy."
"So you can be scared." Eric laughed.
The king didn't seem to notice and continued on.
"If they worked together than they would soon find out what is really going on and form a revolution. I wouldn't be able to fight against that. That's why it was so necessary that she didn't get out. That's also why I kidnapped Star, to separate everyone. But thanks to someone they are now all together." The king sighed.
Eric smiled to himself knowing he did the right thing.
"My plan was to kill your sister and you when you got old enough. With you too out of the way I could rule the pureblood vampires by myself. Since I had already killed king John 111 and his daughter Lilly, I would be able to rule over them too. If I kidnapped Star I knew that the two boys who cared about her a lot and would come for her, they would be walking right into my trap." The king said.
"So kill all the natural born leaders so the people would have to follow you." Eric stated.
"Yes, and after that when all the people are crying, I would kill every last vampire, pureblood and savage. Every last woman and child like you did to us!" The king yelled.
Eric glared at the king and spoke,
"For that plan to work everything has to work perfectly. It's impossible." Eric said.
"Not if I have the upper hand. First I will need to kill you then your sister then the others." The king spoke to himself more than Eric.
Eric felt a little worried for his life but more Tala.
"Guard!" The king called.
"Yes sir!"
"Take this young man to be whipped and don't leave an inch of his body untouched.A/N ~ Sorry this chapter was only on Eric and the king but I felt that it was really
important and should be by itself.
