Seokjin's pov:

I became a little nervous and worried that he would blame me for not showing myself at the banquet hall. Contrary to my expectations, my father simply extended his hand.

"I'll ask for more details later. First, let's leave."

His reaction was strange, seeing as he didn't scold me, but I approached my father.

"Okay." I tried to take his hand, but his disciple held me back.

"Your ankle. You're hurt."

I glanced at my father's disciple. I could still walk, so it was a little embarrassing for him to say that. "I'm fi - "

My father smiled kindly at his disciple and dropped his outstretched hand. "It's not something you should concern yourself with."

I tried to look indifferent, but it seemed like my father was telling his disciple that I was unimportant and not worth caring about.

'I was wondering why he wasn't angry. Is it because his disciple is here?' My mood was worsening when my father suddenly held me in his arm.

'Huh?' I looked at him in surprise, wondering why he was now holding me.

"Because he's my son." My father said with a slight smile.

In the past, I would've been shaken by his words because I was a child yearning for love, but I wasn't like that anymore. 'I can't expect anything from him.' My past expectations were only false hopes that always let me down. I thought that he might love me if I acted cutely and humored him, but I had no intention of continuing such stupid behavior anymore.

'Because I know how this story ends.'

"I will visit you in the future, so don't come to my home anymore." My father said, looking at his disciple.

As someone who didn't travel for most things, my father personally told his disciple that he would visit him. It seemed like he really cherished him, but when I glanced at his disciple. I saw that he was slightly frowning, 'Isn't his expression a little strange for someone who should be deeply moved?' I frowned as well.

'Wait, Father. Isn't this a little too much?' I didn't realize that he would enter the banquet hall while holding me like this, but he did.

"Father." I called out to him.

His blue eyes turned to me. "You injured your ankle. There's no need to push yourself and stay at the banquet."

'No, that's not it! I want you to let go of me because I'm embarrassed!'

But if I fight with him over this matter, I would only stand out more. The attention I was already receiving was more than enough. 'I want to disappear quietly.' Despite my wishes, reality wasn't as merciful. As everyone's attention in the banquet hall turned on us, so did Count Kim's, the owner of this mansion.

Count Kim approached us. "Your Excellency, did something happen?"

"My son isn't feeling well, so we must depart." My father said.

I sighed. 'Ah, this is so embarrassing.'

My original plan was to go home after quietly attending the banquet as it was the only way to avoid further backlash. But now I was receiving attention from being held in my father's arm, with the excuse of feeling sick, on top of the attention I received from my gift to Rose.
