When Seokjin was young, his mother passed away. His only remaining family member was his father, who never stayed at home. For as long as he could remember, seokjin was on his own.

"I want to see my father." He decided one day.

Seokjin, who yearned for the company of his only family member, secretly went to meet him. However, he received a cold response.

"Why did you come here?"

"I-I...."

With a thundering voice, the man scolded seokjin on the verge of tears.

"Don't come here again." He ordered.

Seokjin didn't expect him welcome him, for he was used to his cold indifference but this sharp memory left a deep scar.

"My father doesn't love me." Seokjin thought.

With a wounded heart, seokjin grew older and made his debut in high society.

"He didn't come today either."

Seokjin's grand debutante ball was held in the absence of his father. He eventually left the banquet hall, feeling miserable.

"Did he not come because he's ashamed of me?"

As seokjin cried to himself, a man appeared in front of him.

"Why are you crying, my lord?"

His words were warm and his gaze attentive. For the man, it may have been the kindness that he could have given to anyone. But for the seokjin, who had been starved of intimacy for so many years, it felt like he was his savior.

After that day, seokjin started to follow him like a shadow, begging for his love until he succeeded in becoming his lover.

"I will give you anything you want. All you have to do is love me."

But reality strayed from his wishes.

"I don't need your love anymore. Truthfully, I have fallen in love with the Prince."

He said goodbye to seokjin, whose only dream was to marry him. After their three year relationship, the breakup left him devastated.

"Even you.....abandoned me. I will never forgive you."

After some time passed, the prince who had stolen his lover consumed poison at a banquet and fell into a coma. This posed a problem as many people had witnessed the person who gave the poisoned cup to the Prince.

"You! Did you try to hurt him?"

Seokjin frantically shook his head. Although, he hated the Prince for stealing the man he loved, he never wanted to hurt him. He had simply handed the cup to the Prince who had asked for a drink to quench his thirst.

"No, It wasn't me."

But no one believed him.

The Emperor ordered in anger "Take that wicked boy to the underground prison. Now!"

But no one moved to receive his orders. Perhaps this was because standing behind seokjin was even more fearful figure than the emperor himself.

"Father."

Although, he had always been indifferent towards seokjin, they were still family. Seokjin cried while latching onto his hand. Despite his age, he looked like a young man.

"Father, I really didn't."

He brushed him off. Seokjin eyes widened in astonishment.

Duke Kim stared at the emperor as he spoke "I will personally arrest him."
