As she'd guessed, Trent wasn't exactly at his best. After playing such an incredible, breathless game, only to lose, it was clear that this defeat must have been pretty bitter for the young English footballer.

The two had found themselves in a corner, out of sight and out of mind.
Where no wandering ears or people could pay them any attention.

where to start... ? the two wondered.

"you gave a fine performance, trent, as usual" she broke the silence.

Her compliments always flattered him, even before he'd been in a relationship, having been in a relationship with her, and after he'd been in a relationship, her compliments he still didn't know how to take, so destabilizing they were, and he loved that.

"Thank you... even if I could have done better to win this match".

"they didn't give you a break, to tell the truth".

trent let out a laugh, then his eyes went back to his jersey and he felt a twinge of sadness, inwardly he wanted to cry, it was almost even heavier than their defeat by real madrid.
Seeing the one he still had some feelings for wearing a shirt flocked with another name on it hurt him enormously. But he didn't show it.

the young woman noticed that he had been staring at the number 18 on her shirt for some time. She blushed for a moment, perhaps she should have put her jacket back on, but deep down, it was for the best and she knew it.

"i must say i'm going to miss seeing you wearing my liverpool shirts"

"who says I won't wear them ?"

"I don't think your boyfriend will like it... "he smiled sadly

"my... boyfriend ?"

"aurélien, isn't he with you ?"

"no"

"at least not yet... deep down, the reason I wanted to talk to you was to find out if I still had a chance of winning you back" he says honestly

Primavera said nothing, content to let him talk before she could say anything.

"but I guess I was wrong, I was a fool to think I might still have a chance with you after what I told you".

"no it's not silly trent... I would have done the same thing too, if I'd been in your situation, after all who does not tempt nothing has nothing"

a silence settled between them, a silence that wasn't awkward because they'd come this far, but a rather comfortable silence on the contrary.

"trent, I would have gladly accepted a second chance with you because you're an incredible person, and I've had a wonderful relationship with you, you've been a perfect boyfriend, but... if I accepted it, it would be lying to me... and to aurélien" she added

"at least I know" he laughed.

She stood on tiptoe to remove the few herbs that had been in her hair.

"It's better like that..." he smiled and couldn't help but blush a little by feeling her so close to him after so long

"primavera cho, you were also a wonderful girlfriend, as perfect as I could have ever imagined, and it was a pleasure to have shared those moments of happiness and love with you."

"trent alexander arnold I forbid you to make me cry now" she said with a little tear in her eyes

Then automatically the arms of the young Englishman wound up around the size of the woman who once loved him. god, he was gonna miss that feeling

Aurelien noticed a female figure he'd recognize in a thousand and a figure in red he'd unfortunately recognize in a thousand too.
He had forgotten that the two of them wanted to meet up after the match.
He sighed as he saw the young woman with one of her sweet smiles still glued to her face, while Trent smirked at him.
they were embracing themselves now.

then after this long hug that seemed to be an eternity for the young Frenchman, trent released her, laying one last kiss on her cheek before leaving and leaving her here alone

primavera did not yet feel the presence of Aurélien behind her, she just had a sad smile glued to her lips, she sniffed a little, sad but happy at the same time with this conclusion she hoped to have with him.

And for her it was the best conclusion she could have had so that she could finally turn the page.

"so you guys are back together ?"

she flinched hearing his deep voice before turning around

"it's you"

"it's me, yes..."

"you did great-

"-you didn't answer my question prim'" he cut her off

He watched her intensely, waiting with a little too much impatience for his answer, because he knew that she could change her evening, either it could become better, or it could become the worst...

"im not, you know why ? because im in love with you Aurélien Tchouaméni"
