The night fell over Truffula Valley and as everyone fell asleep, the moon glistened the over top of the forest Layla was awake thinking about what happened a couple hours prior.
She sat in her car in the back seat with the dim overhead light shining just enough for her to continue scribbling in her black covered notebook. Layla scribbled a bit more before bending the top right corner of the page she just wrote on and bent it enough for it to be a book mark. She closed it and bent herself to put the book on the passenger seat.
Layla opened the car door and slipped out of it, touching her bare feet to the soft grass.
She over looked the beauty of the Truffula trees before noticing a strange event going on at the Once-lers house.
The animals were carrying his bed, swaying slowly.
Layla walked down the hill trying not to disturb the others down below. She crept behind the trees and saw them put his bed in the river.
"Woah, Woah, Woah! What do you think your doing!" Layla shouted, running out from behind the trees. "We're calmly floating him off," The Lorax said. "Why?" Layla asked. "Because everyone here needs the trees and he's chopping them down." He explained. Layla nodded her head and looked over to see a baby babaloot with Once-ler. "Uh hey..." Layla said pointing to the little creature. "What?" The Lorax said before looking. "Oh no." He said before running.
Layla just sat on the grass and watched and laughed as they tried to get the little baby.
It wasn't long until they were out of sight and Layla started to get worried. She stood up and far in the distance she heard a faint scream. "Yup he's okay," she said to herself and sat back down and waited.
She waited for what felt like 30 minutes until she saw a tall figure followed by small critters. Layla got up and began to run towards them.
Once-ler was soaked, but that didn't stop him from hugging Layla. "We're you just sitting there?" He asked. "No.... Yes." She admitted. Once-ler chuckled. "It's okay, I don't care." He said. "Well I'm off to bed." He said. "Mkay!" Layla replied. "Remember what we talked about." The Lorax said gesturing to the trees surrounding them. Once-ler just nodded and walked off.
