Chapter 9: The Ball

Today was the day of the ball. I had picked out my dress. It was beautiful purple dress. Right now Marisabelle was getting her hair and make up down for the ball since Kayla wants it to look nicer than she did it yesterday. My brothers were getting their tuxedos ready since they had to be fancy too. My hair will be up in a ponytail, but it will be curled. My hairstyle was fairly simple.

The ball would start in two hours. The decorations were put up in the ballroom and now they were just adding the finishing touches. The decorations in the ballroom were red and pink, so it would look like Marisabelle's tail. I couldn't wait for the ball. Mom and dad said I would have to dance with every boy that asked me to dance. I bet no one will want to dance with me.

In those two hours I was looking at all the food and drooling over it. Well not literally, but the food looked so good that I wanted to eat it now, but I won't be able to eat it until the ball. There was a lot of chocolate. There was white, milk, and dark chocolate. There was also strawberry cake and chocolate cake. There were also a bunch of delicious pastries. "Not now Princess. " I turned around and saw my servant Jordan.

"I know I can't have it now. "

"Come on you still have to finish getting ready. "

"There is just one thing missing. "

"What?"

"A beautiful smile for a beautiful girl. " He said with a smile.

"Uh let's go back to my room. "

"Okay. "We swam back to my room. "Do you think anyone will want to dance with you? " Jordan asked.

"I don't think so. I will be lucky if one person will dance with me. "

"That's not what I think. I think that boys will line up just to dance with you and to see your pretty dress. "

"You really think so. "

"I know so. "

"Thanks. "

It was time for the ball. The ball opened up with people talking and our parents making a shirt little speech about what they are going to change. Then called all of our names from down oldest to youngest starting with Glade then Gull, Caspian, and Cascade. Then me and then out newest member Marisabelle. Marisabelle looked beautiful in her dress and she looked beautiful by herself. She swam down the steps in a very graceful manner, and not like she just learned how to swim that way. Her hair flew behind her and you could see the beautiful hair bow. She really looked amazing.

It was time to eat. The first thing they served was of course seaweed salad. Then we had lobster. Even though it's sea food we still need to kill some off since they are infesting homes, but they do taste good. For dessert we had the pastries, cake, and chocolate. After the whole meal it was finally time time to dance. All the tables and chairs disappeared and some where pushed to the side. I didn't dance. I sat on the chairs that were pushed to the side. "Why is such a beautiful girl sitting all by herself. " I looked up and Jacob had said that.

"I don't want to dance. "

"It's not because you don't want to. It's because no one asked you. Isn't it. "

"Yeah you're right. "

"Well Coral Summer Ross will you do me the favor of giving me this dance. "I smiled at his little proposal.

"Yes I will dance with you. "We got up and to the dance floor. A slow song was playing. I put one of my hands on his back and he put on if his hands on my waist. Our others hand were together. Our steps moved as one. We were very good at dancing if I do say so myself. Once the song finished we sat back down.

"You're a good dancer. "Jordan says.

"You are to. "

"I like spending time with you princess. I sometimes wish we can see each other more than just when I change and wash you. "

"You really want to spend more time with ? Why?"

"Because I like hanging out with you. I've known you since the day you were born and I've seen that you are a very friendly person and that you always try to help people. "

"Yeah and"

"It feels like I don't know anything about you anymore. I hardly know anything about you really. I want to know who you are again. Like when you were younger you used to tell me everything, and I kept all the secrets you told me. "

"You kept all those a secrets. "

"Yes. "

"I guess we can hang out more like old times. " I started to yawn which was very un-princess like thing for me to do.

"Someone's tired. Come on let's get you to bed. The guests are leaving anyway. " Jacob changed me and tucked me in. "Goodnight. "He said

"Wait can you stay here tonight. "

"Like when we used to when you were scared in old times. "

"Yes. But I'm not scared. I just want you here. "

"Okay. " He hopped in the bed with me.

"Goodnight Jordan. "
