Harry's POV:

I was eating dinner at the Gryffindor table, trying to ignore Ron's exaggerated story about how I was becoming like Hermione. Apparently I was becoming too studious and didn't have enough time to play Quidditch and chess with him. "Mate, are you even listening?" I was brought back to reality by Ron's question.

"If you want me to be honest, no I wasn't listening to a word you were saying." I replied, taking a bite of my very small portion of roast lamb. I heard Ron sigh and inwardly smirked at annoying him. But of course Hermione had to give her input. "Well, I think that it's excellent that you're finally taking your study's seriously."

I ignore her in favour of casting Tempus and seeing that it's 7:35pm and I only have 25 more minutes until I had to meet Professor Snape. Canceling the spell I start to gather my things . "Where you going mate?" Ron asked and I sighed in annoyance. "I need to go see Professor Snape." I replied, walking off without waiting for a response.

As I'm walking through the corridors heading towards the dungeons, I wonder what Professor Snape meant by the walls have ears. "Where are you off to young man?" I look up and to see a portrait talking to me, and it hit me. The Portraits must report back to the headmaster.

"I'm just going to professor Snape sir, he told me to go to his office in potions today." I say, it's not a total lie but it's not the truth either. The Portrait nods and sends me on my way with advice to try not to get on Professor Snape's nerves too much. I frown at that, but continue to walk to Professor Snape's office either way. I arrive 5 minutes early.

I knock on the door and hear an "enter" from inside. Opening the door and going inside, I walk to the front of Professor Snape's desk and wait for him to finish what he was doing. After he finished, he put his quill into the ink pot and looked at me. "Take a seat Mr. Potter, I have something to discuss with you." I sit down and he hands me some sort of form.

My eyes widen when I read the title despite my occlumency shields. I honestly couldn't believe it, I knew Professor Snape didn't hate me but I didn't think he liked me. But this is just shocking and is making me question what his actual motives for me are. I look at him, my shock still on my face.

He's staring back at me and raises an eyebrow. I look between him and the form he gave me, wondering what to do. "Is this a joke or something or are you being serious?" I ask, looking at him for an answer. He sighs but answers anyway. "It is not a joke Mr. Potter, I truly believe you have potential to join my N.E.W.T class."
