Shoot it With the Shotgun

Leon follows behind you as you walk forward. You stop as something scuttles ahead of you. Leon is grabbing some ammo he found in a side table so he doesn't notice it. "Leon..."

He walks over and looks around before down at you, "Everything okay?"

You shrug and shake your head, "yeah just thought I saw.... Something but it was probably a rat." Leon nods.

"I've seen them. It's ok, I'll protect you from them." He winks at you and with a roll of your eyes you move forward with a slight smile on your lips.

You reach a fallen dresser and so Leon lifts it up and out of the way. After it's standing you see a scorpion spider creature as big as a golden retriever, scuttle and merge with some dude in front of you. "WHAT THE FUCK?!" You yell as the man starts yelling and running straight for you two.

Leon pushes you back behind him and takes off the shotgun, shooting him making him fall, and the creature disconnects from his back. Leon shoots again before it stops moving and then the, thing, explodes into black goop.

"Great, we have swinging tentacle headed people, worm munching heads, and now fucking spider scorpions that make them ten times crazier?! I hate this fucking castle..." You rub your eyes and sigh. Leon sighs as well.

"Well, at least it's just two shotgun shots and they stop." Leon says reloading said gun and putting it back on his back.

You stare at him with a what-the-hell look before gently pushing him. "Ok soldier, that's one way of looking at it..."

Leon chuckles, "Trust me, compared to some things I've fought, these guys are considered easy."

Raising a brow you walk behind him, "Are you kidding me? What is worse?!"

Leon glances over his shoulder at you before continuing forward, "we make it out of here, I'll tell you over that dinner you agreed to." You blush slightly and smile like a goof.

"Deal, oh look, the merchant... At the bottom of this flight of stairs..." Leon chuckles dryly and heads over getting lots of ammo and repairing and upgrading things. You walk over to a gate and look outside with a frown, yeah this feels like were going to be fighting lots of dudes...

That's exactly what happens, as soon as you open the gate, you hear Ramons giggling and then Leon starts sniping dudes off the walls. As he lowers the drawbridge, lots of guys come towards us, one with the spider creature thing on their back. Leon uses a mixture of his shotgun and handgun to take them out, and you take one out with your knife.

Heading inside the gatehouse you find a few more guys with the creature merging on their back. Leon quickly kills them with the shotgun. Looking around Leon gets some extra ammo and you figure out the levers.

You two continue forward through the many towers of the castle, taking out guys and the creatures. You collect some things to trade with the merchant along the way. Taking a slight break before heading up onto the walkways outside, Leon reloads and you clean off your knife. "Ugh, seriously how many people are infected with this damn thing? Do they just keep regenerating?"

Leon shrugs, "They seriously have to many men, but at least we're slowly getting through them, and reducing the plaga and the cult."
