"You packed the drinks, right?"Phil shouted from the kitchen.

I rolled my eyes in exasperation, because I had double checked everything was ready. Phil was just being paranoid.

"Yes, are you ready to leave?" I shouted back.

Moments later he appeared round the doorway, a big grin on his face.
"Yes! Let's go!"

Leaving the house I got into the car, watching in the mirror as Phil locked the door and climbed into the drivers seat next to me.

We had been planning this trip for a while now, both of us waiting for a gap in our schedules to be able to get away for a bit and spend some time together.

I caught his eye and we both smiled before he started the engine and we set off.
The weather was in our favour today, the bright blue sky was mesmerising and the sun shone down on us, warming the car. The journey wasn't too far but it was still two hours, so I reached over to turn the radio on.

It wasn't long before I heard Phil's stomach start to rumble, and I looked over at him to see a sheepish look on his face.

"You didn't have something to eat before we left?" I asked.

He shifted slightly in his seat, keeping his eyes fixed on the road.
"No, mum" he laughed, but stopped when he noticed I wasn't laughing.

"I knew you'd pack something" he said.

"Of course you did, because I've had to learn that you're always hungry! What do you want, crisps, a cookie, a-
"Crisps please baby"

Sighing, I handed him the packet after opening it. He began munching them, looking content.

Not long after we arrived, pulling into the car park. Making sure we had all of our stuff, we exited the car and headed towards the kiosk to get tickets.

Phil's eyes lit up with excitement as we entered and he took it all in, his smile beaming.
It was adorable.

"Where do you wanna go first?" I asked, turning to him.

"The butterfly house!" He exclaimed, waiting for my reaction.

Not gonna lie, I was expecting something like the lions or the birds of prey, but no, the freaking butterfly house. Who would have guessed?

I nodded, trying not to laugh as he grabbed my hand and followed the signs with a picture of a butterfly on them.

Walking in, it was actually really nice. It was heated, obviously for the butterfly's, which were everywhere, on plant leaves, trees, the wall, and flying around.

There were loads of signs too, telling you the type and rarity.

A nice red one landed on Phil's  head, and I burst out laughing.
"It suites you!"

He reached up to gently lift it off, causing it to sit on his hand.

"Very funny" he deadpanned, but I could see him trying to hide his smile.

We looked around for a bit more, taking plenty of pictures and reading the signs.
"It's your turn to chose"Phil  said once we had left.

Looking at the map we had been given upon entry, I made a decision.

"The penguins and seal section looks good" I said, leading the way.
"Ooo yes like happy feet".
