"So you're not coming then?" he asked with very raised eyebrows, confused by the fact you just turned down a night out full of free drinks, "no I'm too tired, I have been working all day y'know" you sighed, throwing your drained self on the sofa. "Ok then I'll be back around midnight" he winked, giving you a quick kiss on the forehead, "what you're still going?" you said with a gulp, thinking about whether to force yourself to get ready and go with him.. just to keep an eye on him and all.

"Yeah I'm not missing out on the free shots, no chance" he giggled as you gave him a fake smile, desperately figuring out a way to keep him with you tonight, "and a few of the lads are gonna be there and it's been a while since we've all met up" he grinned with shrug, before turning to head out the room as you quickly grabbed his wrist. "Oh-erm, well I'll come with you" you stumbled with your shaky ass voice, "it's fine you don't have to, you've had a long day, sit and chill, get a takeaway, have a bath.. the whole shabang" he softly laughed, kneeling down beside you as he ran a fine finger through your loose, messy curls. "No no, really I WANT to come" you insisted with a small smile, leaning in to press your lips against his for a split second, "don't be daft, I'll be fine honestly...what don't you trust me or something" he joked as your mouth drooped into a frown and your eyes shot open, gazing at him with sorry looking eyes.

"You don't do you-" he spat, moving away from you slightly, shaking his head in disbelief, "don't even trust me with one night out on the town with the lads" he disgustedly laughed. "Well can you blame me?" you harshly fought back, remembering the old Phil who couldn't give an absolute shit about who he hurt, who's feelings he destroyed as he lead on girls all for what, a "fun night"

"Seriously you're bringing that up now" he said through gritted teeth with rolled eyes, "well glad you know what I'm on about" you snapped back, loving seeing how taken aback he was, as if it was a surprise what you were talking about.
"Where the fuck has this come from all of sudden? You know that was years ago and you know I literally changed for YOU" he asserted, getting all defensive over your words. "Yeah I do, but I also know what you're like after a few drinks, flirty as ever and a right ladies man" you cursed, raising your voice, not holding back from the facts you were shouting about, "what you really think I'd throw our relationship away for a quick shag in a club eh?" he finally declared as you stayed silent, shutting your eyes for a split second to hold back the tears before looking to meet his view, "that's the thing, I know I'm meant to say 'course not don't be stupid''..but honestly Phil haven't got a clue" you mumbled, crossing your arms to which he just sighed and flashed a fake smile.

"I'm going to go out tonight and have a good fucking time with lads, a few drinks and I will make the promise that I'll not get smashed alright...or sleep with anyone for that matter. Whether you choose to believe me or not, that's on you, but I never thought we'd be even having this conversation if I'm honest" he said, pecking your head and stroking your cheek before heading out the room, you left with a weight on your shoulder, so wanting to put your full trust in him and actually believe in him, but there's a part of you that will always, no matter what he says or does, be wary of his actions because of his past... I mean what do they say, fuck boys don't change their ways?

...

You were curled up on the sofa staring blankly at the flatscreen, zoned out in your own little world, when the familiar sound of keys could be heard turning in the front door. "You're still up?" a surprised phil sighed, dropping his phone on the table, "Is it past my bedtime or something" you harshly replied, keeping your gaze on the tv. "Alright then" he sarcastically laughed, confused as to your mood,
"what's got your knickers in a twist?"

"Nothing at all" you softly huffed, turning to face him as he made his way towards you, not a stumble in his walk. "Is this about earlier?" he whispered, sitting himself on the sofa and wrapping his arms to sit comfortably around your waist as you head lay back on his chest. "You said you'd be home by 12 phil"you sighed as his fingers ran finely through your hair, "The traffic getting out of Manchester was mad, I swear I left at like quarter to twelve he placed a sweet kiss on your forehead as your body eased to his touch.

"I just need you to trust me" he spoke, tilting your chin to face him, "I'm trying, I really am" you smiled, "yes I'm home an hour and a bit later than I said I'd be, but I'm sober...maybe a bit tipsy and I can walk in a straight line which is a good sign eh" he laughed as you giggled, snuggling into his chest, "and no lipstick stains or that..." he added.

"I love you baby"you sighed, giving him a goofy smile as he pulled you closer to his warm body, his cologne still strong as ever on his shirt which for some odd reason comforted you, "not as much as I love you darling"

"I need to get over myself" you giggled, shaking your head, "why d'you say that?" he said, not really on the same page as you. "Me and my trust issues-" you smiled as he was quick to interrupt you, "no no you have every reason to be wary of me with my past and history...but I swear you've changed me, brought out the better side of me...the proper, loving, caring man i should've always been"

"Well, since when have you had a way with words foden " you joked as he rolled his eyes, "hey what can I say, I'm a whole new man" he laughed back as your hand ran through his perfectly gelled hair, "a mature gentleman"

"Haha I wouldn't go that far, mature my arse lad" you said back, ruffling his locks to which made his eyes shoot open, "you didn't just do that"

"Oh but I did, what are you gonna do about it?" you smirked, shuffling from his grip and strutting towards the door, purposely shaking your hips to gain his attention, "how about I show you" he winked, shifting to his feet as you giggled, jogging up the stairs to your bedroom...finally believing the fuck boy you once knew was gone
