Knowing him

I was pulled out of my sleep by my deafening alarm clock. I groaned and slammed my hand on the clock. I sat up straight, rubbed my eyes and looked around my room. There he was, Steve Rogers, sitting in my chair a few feet next to my bed. My eyes widened and I stared at him while he stared down at me.

"You make a hell of a first impression, Rogers." I nod my head and look around.

"You're needed downstairs, Agent." He slightly smiles.

"Don't you think that's kind of creepy? Watching me sleep? How long have you been in here anyways? How did you get in?" I questioned and rubbed my eyes.

"Nick sent me to get you."

"Aren't you supposed to be downstairs for our meeting in a little bit?" I sit up.

"Yes."

"Why aren't you?"

"Because everyone's already there, except you," he said. "That alarm clock has been going off for 10 minutes. So I suggest you get up."

"Steve." I close my eyes.

"Yes?"

"Please get out." I smile and open my eyes.

"Okay," he slowly walks backwards. "Hurry and get dressed. Nick's getting impatient."

"Shit." I mumble to myself. I scurry, putting my uniform on and fixing my look. I strapped the small gun to my hip and jogged out. When I was visible in the area, multiple eyes were on me.

"Well, look who decides to show up." Nick's one eye glares at me.

"Sorry." I say awkwardly.

As I'm walking around to grab a seat by the round table. I hear Tony's voice. "Brody."

"Stark." I nod and I hear him whistle behind me. I continue walking until I sit in the seat next to Steve. I stay quiet and mumble small greetings to others around me, including my close friends. I looked around the room, feeling uneasy.

Where's Clint?

"Give her some respect Tony." Steve says tensely.

"I'm sorry, since when was my business any of yours?" Tony asks.

"Have you ever thought that she just wasn't interested?" Steve sits up.

"Steve." I hold a hand up and sit next to him.

"I can't let him treat you like that."

"It's fine." I laugh. "He's just trying to get to you. I've heard about your fights. Tony and I aren't like that."

He looks back at Tony and leans back but sits straight, instead of slouching like he was.

"Are you done being 6th grade girls?" Fury asks. "If not, you can go argue somewhere else, I'm not dealing with that shit."

I see Nat about to laugh but she covers it up with a smirk. Everyone was silent.

"Excellent," He smiles. "Let's get to it."

In the meeting, Fury had explained what had happened to Clint. Loki has made him into his own Personal Flying Monkey, as Nick had said.
Loki also had taken the Tesseract, he planned on being a God. I was at my desk thinking about how Clint was doing, then hear a knock on the glass doors.

"Hey Brody, you alright? You look a little shaken up." Steve walks over to me. Everyone was gone, and it was dark.

"Yeah. Just worried about Clint is all." I manage a smile.
