Chapter 11

Summer is almost over. Now that Minju looks back at it... it wasn't an entirely awful summer. Maybe a bit boring and definitely pressuring and stressful as she's spent most of her days working, either at Sakura's or at her parents' convenience store as they told her that they needed her help since she's back at home with them now and doesn't have college to be busy about... Weirdly enough though, those weren't enough to make her totally depressed though since somehow her friends have managed to cheer her up and keep her busy still. At least... as far as they could.

As much as Chaewon has promised her that she will try her hardest for the group to do something during summer, they haven't managed to do many things. They hang out as a group a few times the first month since no one has arranged to go on vacation this soon. Then, the japanese couple had to return back to Japan, Yuri went to visit her relatives from abroad, having been too excited about it for a long while now as she was going to travel abroad after a year or so. She's been talking about her relatives and how they usually visit during Christmas while she visits them over in summer for a while now. Yena has been sulky all summer about how she missed her girlfriend and how facetime wasn't enough. So with half of them missing, the rest having arranged vacations in different cities or islands around there as well as some of them hanging out with their friends from their hometown that they haven't seen for a long time or overall neighborhood friends or just catching up with family and relatives... Minju has been mostly left alone getting busy with work.

The girls still text in the group chat though so Minju isn't left alone still. It's not the same as in seeing them from face to face everyday, which she has to admit that she missed so badly. She's not entirely left alone though as she's still working with Sakura as the girl haven't gone on holidays, just like her, but instead has focused more on her work at the library, just like her...

Her aunt and uncle were also around as they were helping Sakura and Minju out with work until Sakura convinced them to go on vacations too, telling them that they needed time for themselves as a couple but also time to rest too as she could handle the library by herself anyway. Of course she had Minju's help too so...

So here she is now, at the library, once again, working, along with Sakura. She's extremely tired lately as she has to admit that working for two part time jobs literally leaves her no free time to rest or do anything else anyway like hang out or anything. If it wasn't for Sakura to go out with her for dinner sometimes she would have definitely ended up having an extremely miserable summer. Lately though it's pretty obvious that she's only getting more and more tired as she looks sleepless and dehydrated. She has dark circles beneath her eyes, a sign that she's been lacking sleep and rest, as she's been wearing her reading glasses way to often lately, literally not leaving her eyes without them for not even a single second as she... can't see without them anymore. Her eyesight has only gotten worse after working so much and so hard and getting so less rest... but she couldn't afford going to get doctor.

She hasn't told her parents about it. Her mother has specifically told her once that since she's an adult now she should make her own appointments with doctors and overall take care of herself all by herself now and... and Minju can't blame her. She's right. So she finds it pointless to even have a talk with her parents about her poor eyesight since they won't do anything about it. She has to save up and meet her doctor by herself. She's sure she can make it at some point soon though as she's been having two part time jobs all summer and fortunately for her, her parents have agreed on paying her for her services.

Her hair has grown a lot as they're too long at this point. Below her chest, definitely, as they're reaching her back and belly button at this point. She badly needs a haircut but... but that also needs money, money that she has been working so hard to get. It also requires time, time that Minju doesn't have to waste on something like that as much as she needs it. She needs time for herself but can't get it since she's working two jobs...
