They say everything good has an end. Nothing lasts forever. Nothing goes to plan. Happiness isn't destined to last for long. Some believe that we're just visitors in this world. Some others believe that we're just fighting with cruelty and let me tell you it's an unfair war as you never win. Love never wins and people are never destined to find happiness and peace. Not in this world at least. Still, they lie to themselves that they can and that lie is called "hope". They manage to fill their miserable lives with a few moments of happiness and they think it's ok, for a second they're convinced that it's ok, that they can handle it. While in reality, they can't. Life is unfair and there are a lot more depressing and hard moments than happy ones.
For Minju, life's hardest hit hasn't come so far. She thought it had when she was at her lowest and had been trying to set herself free from this world by scratching her wrists. It wasn't that the toughest moment life was preparing for her. No. Not even close. The toughest moment in her life, life's hardest strike is about to happen tonight.
Tonight.
Tonight is a beautiful night, Minju thinks at first. It's peaceful and warm as it's only the beginning of summer after all. Half a month has passed ever since her graduation but it seems like centuries to Minju as the girl has been extremely busy. Unlike every other summer that she has been busy working for both her parents and Sakura, this summer, however, she's working only for Sakura at the library as the company she's signed up to has called all the new trainees and have given them their official training schedules. So whenever Minju wasn't working for Sakura she was at the company practicing. Her daily life has changed completely and at first she couldn't get used to it. Couldn't get used to her freedom and how she's not obligated to obey her parents and work for them as she has no free time to waste for that anymore. She's so extremely happy to be able to practice for her upcoming acting career. Every day is a different day as she learns new things and gets even more experienced when it comes to acting.
No matter how her parents are against it, they can't do much as Minju is an official trainee now and works really hard so they can't exactly interfere. They only judge with those harmful words of their but Minju is so used to it that it doesn't affect her anymore.
Now her life feels like it's in her own hands again and no one controls it anymore. Now her life is filled with what she wants to do and what she likes as she even gets free time to hang out with her friends or Chaewon. And even if her mother has tried to reason with her as to how she should use her days off to help them out at their workplace Minju has refused every time as she's patiently explained her mother how that can't happen as she's already working and can't handle having a third job and in fact, days off are called days off for a reason! For people to rest!
So it's been half a month. Half a month filled with happiness as Minju is finally able to live her life the way she wants and enjoy it to the fullest. Yes, she's still living with her family and yes it's still hard facing them everyday but fortunately for her she's not staying at home for that many hours so she can manage.
It's a peaceful night, warm too. There's no moon in the sky but since Minju's neighborhood isn't as bright as other parts of the city, she's able to see the stars above her clearly. The neighborhood is quiet, but not to the scary point since it's still early for anything bad to happen yet. She's not afraid though as she's holding Chaewon's hand, the girl walking her home. She's parked her car at the old address Minju has given her and now she's walking her home. They've done that plenty of times as Chaewon always wanted to make sure the girl would be alright plus to get them some more alone time.
They had a beautiful, peaceful date this afternoon, catching up with each other's life and news. It was also filled with laughter, hugs, kisses and love. A lot of love. Minju couldn't have it any other way and doesn't ask for anything more.
