The original plan for this was multiple long-ish chapters that followed the story of Jasper the Sprinklekit as he tries to socially undermine an amoral organization. He would fall down the path of blackmail and eventually team up with the antagonist. In a turn of events that basically anyone else but him could have seen coming, he gets betrayed and narrowly escaped death. His plan works in the worst way possible, he does get his goal but at the cost of everything. Perhaps everyone.
The story would shift gears and future a post/mid character arched Sonder as the next protagonist in this now post apocalyptic world.
Things to know about this version of kp.
Gootraxians
They don't need to eat.
Slimes heal the fastest and can reform as long as their mask in intact. Can be broken by blunt force or by being separated from the main body too long.
All gootraxians other than slime pups can swap between plantigrade and digigrade. Their bodies can mend and form, but not majorly.
They do not have any of those parts.

25% Some recollection
25% No recollection of human life.
10% feral.
Some take longer to heal, some take faster. This is randomized. Other than the slimes.
Depending on the gootraxian, they will have paws. Rare to still have human shaped hands, but will still have the paw pads.
Blood varies in colour.
Some act more like humans, others like their respective animal. All gootraxians semi influenced by their respective animal.
Most gootraxians act according to bestiary to some degree. Pretty sure this was already a thing.
They have fur. Asides from slime and shork variants ofc. Fur type varies.
Discolouration can occur, just really rarely, Ex: orange nightcrawler, bloodmoon slime.
All removed goos where taken away for testing. All recalled for unconditional DNA. Currently being formed into their respective replacements. Ones without a replacement (lang) died off in trials.
Most blackouts see better in the dark, power outages have better hearing. Ghost slimes excluded due to no eye holes in mask. Nightcrawlers are very sensitive to light. Watermelon sharks have boosted hearing and seeing.
They do not taste good. Slimes are not jello. Mochi do not taste like mochi. Witchbrews do not taste like the drink. Sprinklekits do not taste like ice cream.
Witchbrew do not have to fly, same with slime dragons. They can walk if they choose.
Sprinklekit tails are like normal. Not the cone cause I don't like the cone.
Shorks without hair look bald.
Jammers can play any sound on the internet through headphones. Same with vip nightshade and boom boxes.
Partyeena are really rare, more so than nightcrawler.
Figs and plantix try to trick ppl in chopping down the tree for the plantix poison affect.
Hazzys are usually made fun of if they have a hazmat for 'being human.'
Protogens are assistants, can be freed from programming. Ones made from infection or not 'reprogrammed' are free. Reprogrammed ones know what they are doing, but they are powerless to only watch, unable to control their actions. Once freed, they can get reprogrammed.
Crystal goots despise rainbow slimes.
