Shadow's POV

Hey, Watch out!

A female voice stung my ears, and just as I was turning around a pink blur barreled into me.

I fell back on the ground and heard something heavy hit the ground next to my feet.

"It's an ambush, Run!" I yelled at the top if my lungs, I don't know why. . . No one was there to hear me. That One knew anyway. . .

I looked down at my chest where a pink hedgehog was clinging to with her eyes wide at me. "Are you right? I am so sorry!" She quickly leapt off of me and helped me up.

"I'm sorry, but, what just happened?" I asked while looking to the treeimb at our feet.

"Oh, it was falling so I knocked you out of the way. I guess I had my survival mode on." She said with a smile.

"Oh, er... Thanks, Ms. . ."
"Amy Rose, nice to meet you!" She stuck out her hand in greeting, I shook her hand and pondered on what to respond. . .

Not my full name, she might be a spy.

"I'm Shad, Shad the Hedgehog." I said.

Her eyes widened as she looked me up and down.

Crap, not vauge enough!

"S-sorry, you just look a little bit like some one I know." She said with a nervous smile.

"Anyway I should probably get back home, rummers are going around about a criminal on the loose." She said and shrugged, then started to turn away before I stopped her by walking beside her.

"In that case I should wall you home." I offered, even though I kneew who this 'criminal' was.

She obviously didn't see me as that. Thankfully . . .

"Alright." Amy said with a shrug and her smile returning. "Its about a mile down the block after the third right." She told me as we began walking.

I only nodded. "You know this place like the back of your hand, huh?" I asked her.

She giggled. "I guess so, I have to chase out the bad guys- I mean, I used to chase bad guys. You see, I was on the Sonic team, and then I was voted out." She explained. "Do you know who they are?"

That's how she knows about me then, just not my appearance.

"Yeah, I thought they were heroes, but now I know they're just jerks." I lied quickly.

Amy smiled. "Yeah. . . They are jerks."
