New Years

Amy's POV

Shadow opened the door for me and I got out of the car to look around the park where we had first met. Though now itwas filled with people laughing and dancing, and the counter still had at least two minutes on it still.

"We got here just in time!" I said and grabbed Shadow's hand, dragging him over to the most empty spot I could find.

"No kidding." He said, though I couldn't help but notice his gaze looked almost nervous and anxiety driven by the way his eyes shifted from person to person.

Does he think some one is after him?

Tails waved at me and ran over to greet us with Knuckles and Marine.

"Marine! I haven't seen you in forever!" I said and hugged her. She hugged me back. "Yeah, it's been way too long, sorry I wasn't able to make it to the party, my flight was canceled." She explained with a frown.

I rolled my eyes. "You're here now aren't you? That's better than nothing!" I said. She smiled and hugged me again.

Rouge ran over to us and basically jumped into Knuckles' arms.

"I'm so glad we all could make it!" She said with a smile to me and Marine.

Marine hugged her as the 20 second timer sounded.

"Here we go!" Rouge said and hugged Knuckles, who sighed with a roll of his eyes and faced the timer.

Shadow's POV

Should I do it? She might hate me. . . What if it was be her first kiss? What if it's not, and what I'd she doesn't feel the same way???

I sighed and suddenly realized the people counting down and holding their partners.

Amy eagerly yelled each number down to three, before I pulled her to face me. "THREE- t. . . Two?" She said two as if confused on what I was doing. I'm confused too Amy, probably more than you. . .

I closed my eyes and put my forehead against hers, and slowly moved my lips down to hers and kissed her just as the timer hit 0 and confetti went everywhere. The boom of fireworks went up and exploded with light as I opened my eyes and looked to the ground.

"I guess I got caught up in the moment. . . Sorry" I lied with a nervous smile, slowly looking back to Amy.

She had a surprised but happy look on her face. "Dont be sorry. . ." She said with a giggle. "That was perfect!"
