The next few days were surprisingly normal. I didn't receive anymore Madison hate mail, I was able to avoid Andrew enough to where he didn't suspect anything, and Ethan just acted like nothing ever happened. Friday finally arrived and it was the last block of the day. Ethan and I were our normal couple self and the history lesson was superb. How could it get any better?

The bell eventually rang and I headed out to the parking lot to find Andrew's car. Mine was still in the shop so I had gotten rides from Hailey until we found out that her art classes got moved to Fridays. Hopefully I wouldn't have another Madison encounter today...

"Hey," Andrew greeted from the car as I approached the passenger's side, "How was your day?"

"Pretty great actually! This whole week has been surprisingly good," I smiled and got in the car.

Andrew was about to crank the engine when he replied, "Why surprisingly?"

"Eh, I don't know. I just had this bad feeling going into this week. Anyways, how was your day?" I asked trying to avoid bringing up the Madison incident. I failed.

"Surprisingly good too. Madison is acting a lot better than I thought since..Ya know...Anyways, it's kinda weird actually," he laughed.

He finally went to start the ignition, but when he turned the key, nothing happened.

"Shit..." he whispered under his breath, "Looks like we're gonna have to walk."

He looked over at me with a puppy dog pout.

"Good thing we live close then," I laughed as we both got out of the car.

While we walked, we just talked and laughed like old times. It felt so good to be around him like this after almost a week of partially ignoring him. There was no one around to interrupt or ruin it this time. Instead, there was a something. Rain. We were halfway home and it began pouring down on us like a waterfall.

"Great! Just great!" I threw my arms up in frustration, "Now my hair and clothes are ruined. I probably look like poop now."

"You look absolutely breathtaking for a girl that looks like she just jumped in the ocean," Andrew laughed giving me a cute grin.

I began blushing.

"Hey wanna race home?" I suggested trying to change the subject.

"Sure!"

"Okay, on the count of 1...2..."

I immediately took off before getting to 3.

"Hey! You cheated!" I heard Andrew shout from behind me.

"I know!"

As I ran, I stretched my arms out like an airplane, looked up at the sky and just took in the feeling of the cold, refreshing rain rolling down my face. I felt clean, like everything bad that had happened to me had just been washed off completely.

"I don't let cheaters win!!" Andrew unexpectedly slipped his arms around me from behind and lifted me in the air. I squealed, trying to get free, but he was too strong. He slung me over his shoulder and continued running toward his house.

"Let me down Drewy!" I said as I beat on his back with my little girly fists.

We arrived at his front porch and he finally put me down.

"Thank you," I said with relief in my voice. He just stood there and laughed.

"There. We both won," he said with a cheeky smile.

"Whatever," I said rolling my eyes, "but I would've won."

He just looked at me smiling.

"Yeah I don't know why you think you look bad in the rain. You don't."

I started blushing again while he went to unlock the front door.

"Hey, you wanna hang here till the rain lightens up?" he asked walking over to the stairs. I followed.

"Sure if you don't mind. My parents are out-of-town this weekend so it's not like I have to be home any time soon."

"Awesome! Well since you're staying, I'll go get you some clothes to change into. K?"

"K," I said shyly following him upstairs to his room, "By the way, where's your mom?"

"Oh yeah, she's spending the night at my grandma's tonight until my grandfather gets home from visiting some old friends. Grandma was too sick to go with him," he answered as he opened the dresser drawer.

"Here's a t-shirt and sweats if that's okay," he said handing me a Star Wars t-shirt and some gray sweats.

"Yeah this is good," I said smiling, "I'll go to the bathroom to change."

I walked across the hall to the bathroom and changed. I hung my wet clothes over the edge of the bath tub to dry then headed back to Andrew's room.

"Done," I said as I walked in on him shirtless, "Oh! I'm so sorry! I should've knocked. I'm so sorry,"

"It's okay Soph," he said pulling his shirt over his head, "It's not like you haven't seen me without a shirt on before. We go swimming all the time," he laughed.

"True," I said feeling the heat rushing to my cheeks, "Anyways, wanna watch South Park or something?"

"Sure! Wanna watch up here? Just in case my mom comes home early. She doesn't like that show." he and I both laughed.

"Sounds fine to me."

I climbed on top of the bed, sitting on the soft red sheets. He grabbed the remote and came and sat next to me. We laughed at the show and developed a few new inside jokes throughout the night. As much fun as I was having, something felt off. I soon dozed off, but I had a strange feeling we were being watched.
