"Sophia. Sophia! You need to wake up." I heard as I woke up to my dad hastily shaking my arm. "You need to get up. You're running late for school." I groaned and turned over onto my other side only to see that the clock on my nightstand read 7:30am. Turning on my back, I flung the sheets off of me practically ripping them off the bed, and quickly got up.
My stomach growled as I made my way to the bathroom across the hall. Knowing I didn't have time to eat breakfast, made it growl even more. I reached the bathroom and closed the door behind me, and I immediately began brushing my teeth and washing my face. After I applied my foundation powder, I put a little bit of eye shadow and eyeliner on to make my self look somewhat decent.
I went to grab my mascara to add a little flare to my look, when I realized it wasn't there. "Mom!" I hollered out the bathroom door, but I didn't receive a response. "Did you take my mascara?" I questioned hoping for an answer this time. "Yes, honey. I borrowed your mascara. It's in my makeup case in my bathroom," she responded with a little attitude in her voice considering I had accused her of taking my mascara when she merely borrowed it. Not wanting to have to go all the way downstairs to get it, I decided I'd grab it on my way to my car before I left. I quickly gathered my wavy blonde hair up into a ponytail instead of straightening it like I normally did.
Once I finished in the bathroom, I fled to my bedroom to pick out something to wear. I grabbed the closet door handle and yanked the door wide open. I snatched the first thing I could find, which happened to be my all-time favorite shirt. It was a long-sleeve turquoise top that felt like it should be a pajama shirt because it was so soft. I then grabbed a pair of denim skinny jeans, along with a matching denim vest to tie the outfit together. Once I was dressed, I walked over to my desk to grab my phone, but noticed an unfinished PreCal worksheet that I was supposed to do for homework last night. The assignment had completely slipped my mind the previous night since I had been hanging out with Andrew and Hailey, along with Hailey's boyfriend Chase.
I quickly picked up the worksheet and slipped it into my book bag. I had no idea how I'd finish it, considering I had PreCal during second block and my first block was Chemistry. This was an issue because my Chemistry teacher never let us work on other school work unless it was for his class, which I thought was totally stupid.
I put my book bag on, grabbed my phone and headed down the stairs. When I reached the door that led to the garage, I picked up my white lacy low-top converse and slid them onto my feet. I hurriedly tied the laces and opened the door to leave. I was about to step out into the garage when I noticed my car wasn't there. I turned around and headed to the kitchen to see if my mom was still home. When she wasn't there, I hollered "Mom!" and didn't get a response.
I didn't have time to search the entire house to see if she was still home, so I slipped my phone out of my back pocket and dialed Andrew's number. It rang 3 times before I heard "Hey Soph," on the other end.
"Hey Drew. Can you come pick me up if you haven't already left?" I asked desperately because it appeared my dad took my car since his was in the shop.
"Yeah. Sure. I'll be there in a few." Andrew was my life saver. It wasn't a super big deal for him to have to come get me since he only lived a few houses down the street.
"Thanks so much! See ya!"

Just like he said, Andrew showed up a few minutes after we hung up. I walked out the front door and locked it behind me, before running to Andrew's car that was sitting in the driveway. I opened the passenger door and hopped in the seat, tossing my book bag in the floor board in front of my feet.
"Hey there sleepy head," Andrew said sarcastically as I buckled my seat belt. "Hello there, life saver," I responded with a big grin on my face. I was so happy he was able to do this for me. I couldn't afford to let this morning get any worse.
"Thanks again for picking me up. You do not know how bad my morning has been," I said pulling down the mirror on the sunshade in front of me. "No problamo. You're lucky I was running late too, otherwise I would've been at school by the time you called." He slightly chuckled as he spoke, causing me to giggle a little myself.
I looked in the mirror and remembered I forgot to grab my mascara from my mom's makeup bag on the way out. "Crap!" I accidentally said out loud. "What?" Andrew asked giving me a puzzled look. "Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to say that out loud," I giggled. "I just forgot to grab my mascara on the way out." I felt so stupid telling my best guy friend that. It probably sounded so stupid and pointless to him.
"Do I need to turn around so you can go get it, or-"
I quickly interrupted him, "No, no it's fine. I can just borrow some from Hailey." Andrew was so sweet. That's probably why he's one of my best friends. He wasn't even being sarcastic when he asked if we needed to turn around. He was completely serious, which put a slight grin on my face as I turned to look out the window.
