Chapter 14

"How are things going?" The alien woman Nera, asked.

"It's working well as expected. The lives we took from the inhabitants of planet Kirax and all the other planets we conquered gets us closer to reviving him. However I believe if you want to use Zero as a host, adding in more ultra life force would further strengthen his soul and help him take over the ultra's body once he kills Zero's soul." Alien Bat informed her.

"I already have a plan in mind. For now, leave." Alien Bat willingly complied. He didn't want to suffer the same fate as Ultra Dark Killer if he failed any task given.

After he left Nera kept her gaze on the pod. From the pod's glass she could see her own reflection. Her last battle against Chiara had left her face disfigured. Now she wore a mask that covered the right side of her face from her forehead to her cheek. It was a miracle that her eye was still functional.

"I'm sorry it took so long dear... but just wait a little longer. I'll get things done as soon as possible." For a moment, her lips curved up into a gentle smile. Something that seemed impossible for someone like her. But her smile soured when Chiara crossed her mind.

Looking at the reflection of her face she wondered, "It can't be her can it?"

"Good news Chiara, that was the last of the tests. Your vitals and genes are stable so that means you won't be having any outburst like you did earlier on."

"Really? That's a relief! Though I have to ask, why can't I revert back to my ultra form?" Chiara asked. Hikari pondered for a moment before scrolling through his datapad.

Then he started explaining that it may be because once Chiara had awaken her true powers, her body evolved from an ultra to what she is now. Take Grigio for example. From Grigio Regina she evolved into Ultrawoman Grigio. Typically beings that evolve cannot return to the state they were in before.

But ultimately Chiara's outer appearance is influenced by which part of her is more dominant. She emerged as a fairy and can still keep her civilian human form after dropping her fairy form because the fairy part of her is stronger than the ultra part.

She had more inquiries but was interrupted when her holo watch started beeping as a reminder for something. And that something was the Spark festival. A celebration held every century to commemorate the Plasma Spark and with it the birth of ultras.

"I see the Spark festival will be starting soon." The scientist said.

"Mhm, are you going too?" She asked liglightheartedly.

"I am. Thankfully that was the last of my work. Atleast until after the festival."

"Great! I'll get going now. Don't wanna be late." She took a few steps towards the door when he spoke again,

"Go on, I hope you have a great time with Zero."

Zero?

"Are you not going with Zero?" Hikari asked when he noticed her confused expression.

"Actually I'm meeting up with Grigio and the rest. I don't know about Zero. Maybe I'll see him at the festival." She responded.

"Ah, my apologies. I thought couples generally attend festivities together. That doesn't seem to be the case."

"What does that have to do with Zero?"

"You two are dating aren't you." His words made her choke on her words. Didn't she clear all that dating stuff with her friends? How could the misunderstanding reach Hikari?

"Da-dating?! Where'd you hear that from?!"

"I heard it from Mebius who heard it from Taro who heard it from Ace who said that Zett and Grigio saw you two- Chiara?" Said fairy leaned against the wall beside the door looking like her soul left her body. Hikari tried stepping closer to see if she was alright but slowly backed away when he saw the dark look on her face.
