As they reached the headquarters, Sanemi let go of Giyuu's hand. Giyuu put back his poker face, making completely disappear any trace of a smile or blush. He was a bit sad to loose the contact he had with Sanemi but nothing showed.

-"Sorry... I don't feel comfortable holding your hand in public yet..." Apologized Sanemi.
-"Don't worry. I understand." Answered Giyuu on his cold tone.

Sanemi felt bad but didn't say anything. He wouldn't know what to say anyways.

-"Shinazugawa-Senpai!!" A girl screamed as she went over.

Both hashiras looked confused. The girl was really pretty. Her long red hair were tied in a pony tail but still seemed to float around her. Her skin seemed to shine in the light and her green eyes seemed to hypnotize you and made it hard to look away. She was quite tall. Not taller then Sanemi but still taller then Giyuu. She gave the last one a dirty look and Giyuu simply ignored it.

-"Uhm... can I help you?" Finally asked Sanemi, confused.
-"I'm Samantha. Master paired us together for a mission." She said as she smiled.

She was purposely leaving Giyuu out of the conversation, which annoyed Sanemi. Samantha was a strong slayer. The only reason she wasn't a hashira was because there was already a fire pillar. And the fact she never killed one of the twelve moons. Sanemi turned to Giyuu.

-"Will you be fine going back on your own?" He asked him.
-"Of course. I am not a kid Sanemi." Replied Giyuu, which made Sanemi smile a bit and Samantha frown as he called Sanemi by his name.
-"Ok, go rest. You're still sick."

Giyuu hummed and waved before he started leaving slowly. Sanemi kept his eyes on the smaller boy until he disappeared out of his sight. He couldn't help but feel worried for the water hashira. After a bit, Samantha put her hand on Sanemi's arm, bringing him back to the moment.

-"You seem pretty close. Have you guys become friends?" She asked with a fake smile while inside she was boiling.
-"That's none of your business. Let's go." He said as he glared at her, mentally cursing his master for pairing him with another slayer.

He had always preferred working on his own as he thought people were pulling him down rather then helping him. He also caught himself thinking he would have preferred if it was Giyuu. He blushed lightly and sighed. He already missed him.

Samantha and him had been a walking for a while now. They had reached a mountain they climbed quickly. Thick pure white snow covered the ground as they climbed higher. Samantha was shivering from the cold.

-"You should have dressed warmer." Said Sanemi as he handed her his haori. "I can't have you dying from hypothermia."
-"S-sorry..." She mumbled as she quickly wrapped the haori around her.

Both stopped in a quiet village. They quickly realized there was no one alive here. The roads were covered in blood and mutilated bodies. Sanemi frowned lightly.

-"Looks like we are too late...." He said on a dark tone.

She nodded and pulled her sword out. Sanemi copied her, both looking around for the demon. After some researches and nothing appeared out of the ordinary -except the bodies laying around-, Sanemi slit his palm open, letting his blood drip on the snow, tainting it into a crimson red and mixing with the other people's blood. Not even a minute later, a white figure launched at him. Sanemi smirked and both him and Samantha attacked too. He had to admit, she wasn't bad at all. Not Rengoku's level but still. The demon didn't last long against the two slayers since they were strong but it was also intoxicated with Sanemi's blood. Once the fight was done, both caught their breaths before slowly heading back to give their master their report.

-"How about we stop and grab something to eat?" Proposed Samantha after a long and quiet walk.
-"Sure." Simply replied Sanemi as he suddenly got worried about Giyuu.

He knew Giyuu had food related problems and he hated that he wasn't sure if the water hashira would eat while he's not there. He quietly hoped he would as he walked inside the restaurant. They sat as Samantha chatted Sanemi's ears off, to his despair. The girl seemed unable to stop talking at all, which obviously got on Sanemi's nerves. He had never been this thankful of leaving a restaurant. He hurried back to the headquarters, eager to leave the girl behind and maybe also see a certain hashira.

Giyuu was walking around aimlessly at the headquarters. He had just wanted to take a walk but his feet brought him back here. He was now waiting for Sanemi even if he didn't know just how long it would take. He just wanted to see the wind pillar. He never thought he'd miss him that much yet here he was, waiting. His eyes lit up a bit as he saw Sanemi coming back. Sanemi didn't notice him yet but he didn't mind : he was used to being invisible. He then noticed how Samantha was wearing Sanemi's haori. Giyuu didn't think much of it. Then Samantha noticed him. She looked at him and gave him a smirk. She seemed to hate Giyuu. No. She did hate him. Because of his emotionless look, she thought he looked as if he always thought he was better then everyone. Of course it wasn't the case. Giyuu thought he didn't even deserve to be a hashira but how would Samantha know that? She had noticed how Giyuu was looking at Sanemi. She knew before Giyuu that he was in love with the wind hashira. But Samantha too liked Sanemi and she wasn't going to let Giyuu have him. She laughed at something Sanemi said and grabbed his collar before pressing her lips on his. Sanemi completely froze, surprised. Giyuu's eyes widened and he felt his heart slowly shatter at the sight. He quickly turned around and left to go back to his house as tears started rolling down his cheeks.

-"Of course he was only playing with me and had a girlfriend... We are talking about Sanemi Shinazugawa after all... He always hated my gut... I'm so dumb. I should have known..." He thought as he reached his house and locked himself inside.

Sanemi finally pushed Samantha off and wiped his lips.

-"What the fuck was that?" He asked angrily as his eyes caught Giyuu's haori.
-"It was a thank you kiss." She answered with a smirk.

Sanemi angrily grabbed his haori off of her and stomped to Giyuu's house, a bad feeling twisting his stomach around. He reached the house and started knocking quickly and loudly but Giyuu never answered, all curled up in his bed and quietly sobbing. Sanemi worried about Giyuu.

-"Giyuu! Open please!" He screamed desperately.

Giyuu didn't want to move. His whole body was painful and burning. He was sobbing as quietly as he could.

-"Caw! Sanemi Shinazugawa! Head south-east now! Caw!" Sanemi's crow shouted.

Sanemi glared at the crow, cursing that demon more then he ever did. He looked at the door and sighed. Maybe Giyuu didn't come here in the end. He bit his lips.

-"I'll come back..." He whispered softly before dashing off, decided to kill that demon as fast as possible to come back here and have a talk with Giyuu.

Giyuu could finally sob as loud as he wanted when the other hashira left. His heart was hurting so bad and his fever wasn't helping. His head was spinning and he felt like he had barely enough air to breath. He started coughing, the kind that makes your whole body shake. He then looked at his hand and saw a bit of blood and a single flower.
