Chapter 5: A Sequence of Events

My predictions were right. Tomorrow when I arrived at school I see Taehyung with his nose red and runny. His sneezes shoot out like a shotgun. My guilt is piling up more and more by the second.

"Taehyung, I'm sorry," I say. "It was selfish of me to let you give the umbrella to me when you needed it more."

I hand over the umbrella but Taehyung is refusing to take it back.

Taehyung looks up at me. His voice, deep, cold and shaky exclaims "No, I don't need it."

"You sure?"

He nods.

"Well..... if you say so.. feel better Taehyung!" We look at each other for a few seconds and clear our throats and start heading to our first class of the day.

Right! Me and Jisoo have gym together first period... with none other than Jin. This is our time to figure out plans on how to make him fall in love with me!

I giggle at the thought.

I come running to Jisoo and we wrap each other around in a tight hug as warm ups start.

The gym teacher yells, "GIRLS! BEGIN EXERCISING!"

"Geez, why is he always so stingy?", Jisoo says. We both laugh.

It's now time for regular activities and of course Jin is chosen as the captain for one of the volleyball teams.

"CAPTAINS! CHOOSE WHO WILL BE ON YOUR TEAM!", the gym teacher says.

Me and Jisoo start to freak out. "GIRL! He HAS to choose you because he's totally in love with you!"
Ah yes, another day of Jisoo feeding into my delusions.

"I hope," I respond back. My fingers are tightly crossed.

I wait anxiously until I hear my name being called. "Y/N". The voice, oh my gosh, Jin chose ME!

I excitedly walk and stand beside Jin. He shoots me a little wave and the cutest smile ever.

He looks so good in his gym outfit, I can never get over it.

The thing is now... is that I pretty much suck ass at volleyball. Like when I say I can't play, I literally CANNOT play volleyball.

So.... I may or may not have embarassed myself a little.... maybe a lot...

In front of Jin.

I felt ashamed of myself and was being criticized by my other teammates.

It was so embarassing. I...I just wanted to crawl into a hole and die.

I tried to walk away but Jin tapped me. I turned back, my heart fluttering and skipping beats.

His face lights up. "You did the best you could. This weekend, if you'd like, I'm willing to teach you how to play. I know you'll be good with practice." Then, he did the unthinkable. He WINKED! Oh my god, I feel like I can't breathe.

I nod my head. There's no way I could've spoken anyway.

He waves bye to me and walks away.

Jisoo runs up to me excitedly.

"Earth to Y/N! Earth to Y/N! Jin basically JUST ASKED YOU OUTTT!"

"W-wait.... he did?"

"YES!? HE WANTS TO HANG OUT WITH YOU GIRL."

Oh my gosh... I need to make a good impression.
