Breathe in...

Breathe out...

Aim...

Fire!

She let the arrow fly, piercing the target's bullseye with ease. A sigh of relief exited her lips as she looked back at her parents, hoping to see a smile enlightening their faces.

The various crowds of supporters gathered around screamed out in triumph upon her receiving an almost perfect score. Instead of smiles adorning their faces, she was met with disappointed looks and shaking of heads. Her own smile melted off her face as she looked at her boots, dejected.

After the competition, Jungkook gave her a playful slap on the back.

"Wow, Yunhee-Noona! That was amazing!" He congratulated her, pulling her closer to his body. He smelt musky, a mixture of cologne and sweat since he had gone before her. "I guess," she grasped her hair tie, tugging it downwards to release her hair as it cascaded up to her shoulders.

"Hey...What's wrong?" His tone changed to concern, "You looked quite happy after hitting the bullseye." "My parents don't look pleased," she sighed, "I-...I don't know what I"m doing wrong, Kook... I've always tried to get my parents' approval throughout my life. And yet..."

She turned to see them glaring daggers at Jungkook. "O-Oh, r-right," he pushed her away upon following her gaze, "See you tomorrow, t-then."

"Yeah...see you," she responded, giving him a small smile that did nothing to change her mood. Yunhee went back to the ladies' locker room and scowled at herself in the mirror. She then got her things together, stuffing them into her duffel bag and left to meet her parents, who were waiting patiently.

"Mother, Father," she addressed them with a blank expression. "Yunhee," they addressed her back with a monotone, giving her the same blank look. "I see you have gotten a perfect score," her mother walked towards her, keeping her nose upturned as she acted prim and proper as the Queen of Euphoria.

"Yes, Mother," Yunhee agreed half-heartedly.

"Come with me, we have some matters to discuss," she turned elegantly on her heels and clicked away, Yunhee not too far away. She followed her mother towards the castle without a word, not even casting a glance at those around her.

She bit her inner cheek, not hard enough to draw blood, but enough to briefly distract her.

Of course her mother would pull this bullshit on her.

Yunhee mentally prepared herself for the lecture she was going to get about partaking in such 'violent hobbies' when there was nothing dangerous about Archery. Maybe picking up sword fighting was a little too extreme, but she handled it with ease.

Her mother stopped upon reaching her little office, unlocking the door then stepped inside. Yunhee walked through the doorway and closed the door behind her, folding her arms as she awaited the mere long hours of arguing back and forth where no one wins at the end.

"Yunhee dear," her mother started, pinching the skin between her eyebrows as she collected her thoughts, "You're a princess. You don't have time for all of that. Leave it for the knights." "Mother," she bitterly snapped back, "What if I was kidnapped? I can't wait for some knight in shining armour to show up to be my saviour. We've had this discussion so many times."

"Don't you dare sass me, young lady!" Her mother's palms slapped against the table as she snarled, "You are to act like a princess. There are no exceptions. Quit archery and stop seeing that Jungkook boy, he is no good for you."

"Since when did you know what was good for me?" Yunhee acknowledged the animosity bubbling deep inside the pits of her stomach, "Since when have you ever known what was good for me and what was not?" Her fingers curled, forming fists as she continued, "Times have changed, Mother. Unlike other prissy princesses before me, I will not fall head over heels for a male. I will not discontinue archery for you, and I will definitely not stop seeing Jungkook. I'm eighteen for Euphoria's sake! I'm almost an adult."
