She wasn't exactly impressed by the Kingdom, even though it was bigger than Euphoria.
The palace's walls were white and gleaming in the sunlight, the towers grew in size as they got closer. The drawbridge was down at the time, giving them easy access to run across the moat. Seokjin Junior slowed to a stop, signalling the end of their journey.
She let go of him, seeing him jump off before gripping her waist as he helped her down as well. Was it her, or did his grip seem possessive?
He led her into the castle, probably to meet his parents. She looked blankly at the pillars holding up the palace, wondering how long was it going to take for an idiot to knock down one of them. They walked through the courtyard, Seokjin rambled on and on about the history while she zoned him out.
Why did she agree to do this?
He then escorted her, entering the palace.
The inside was even more atrocious than the outside, the pillars were a bit overkill, and the floor was carpeted with red underneath their feet.
She glanced at Seokjin, observing him as he ranted. Spoiled, she thought, wishing she was back at the castle now.
"Mother, Father, Princess Yunhee is here," he announced as soon as they strolled into their own throne room. "She is a gem, just like her mother had said," his father winked at her. She bit back the urge to throw up all over their nice carpet and had only smiled.
"You are absolutely stunning, darling," his mother commented. "Thank you," Yunhee curtsied, not meaning any word. "Our son has chosen quite the jewel," she continued while Yunhee tried not to gag, "I hope you will treat our son well, for the time that you're here for."
She couldn't promise that, but she had to lie, "Of course, Your Highness." "I shall take you to the royal gardens," he took her arm once more, dragging her with him while leaving.
After walking around for a while, they had finally heard the soft crunch of grass underneath their feet, and saw countless shrubs being trimmed to know that they were in the royal garden.
He took her to each plant, explaining the origin as well as their uses and how to tell the differences, slipping compliments in between. She found herself knowing more about plants in such a short amount of time than she ever could in her entire life.
Growing tired, they sat on a bench overlooking a pond with water that reflected the sky, almost like a mirror. "Are you enjoying yourself? Your mother told me you were quite the...stubborn type," his fingers found her gloved ones and shrewdly intertwined. She noticed and swiftly tugged her arm away, showing how disgusted she was.
"Sorry, sorry," he apologised. She knew he wasn't, it was all a ploy to trick her, to make her feel sorry for him and give him an easy hand in marriage.
You're ain't getting my hand that easily.
Ripples in the water caught her attention, she whipped her head around to witness white and silver koi swimming in the pond, creating little bubbles as they dove for food. She gasped a little, those types of koi were rare to breed. "You have Silver koi?" She asked in wonder, "Aren't they rare?"
"They are indeed rare," he agreed, "My family was the last ones to obtain such a species, and treat them with proper care." She leaned over, not enough to fall into the pond, but enough to unglove her hand and dip her fingers into the water, giggling as the koi wiggled their tails swimming up to her, nibbling on them.
She watched on with content, looking at Seokjin in her peripheral vision and seeing an honest smile gracing his lips. She smiled back, Maybe he might be different from the others.
