He sighed, hovering over her, waiting for the pain of the bond to pass.
"Alright, alright," he scowled at himself, "Stupid bond." His feet touched the ground as he walked over to her, "Princess? Are you responsive?"
She didn't give him an answer.
"Stop trying to play dead, i-it's not working," he stammered, backing away. His insides pushed him to help her, but he didn't want to. He restrained himself, wanting to see where this could possibly lead to.
A few minutes of silence he encountered, giving up and crouching by her side. "Hey, are you dead yet?" He tapped her face, getting no response. Looking around, they were miles away from everything else. It would be Hell to bring her back to the castle, considering the weight she could have gained while unconscious.
He knew she wasn't dead, although she wasn't breathing, due to their bond.
He'll know.
He decided to wait a bit more, seeing the smallest movement as her finger twitched. She murmured, attempting to sit up only for her elbows to give up on her. She smacked herself against the ground, glaring at the demon as he struggled to keep in his laughter.
"Oi, I thought you were dead," he chuckled, "You've been down for the count for three hours." "Shut up and help me walk," she grumbled lowly. "How about no?" He sent her a flash of a smile, "I think my skin will melt off if I touch you." "Hey, that was going to be my line!" She grimaced from the intense spasms coursing through her body. "I took it first~" He teased, sticking out his tongue.
She growled, pushing off the ground. She had managed to stand up for 10 seconds, and her knees crumpled. Yunhee held onto the demon's shirt, almost tearing it. She had almost tumbled back down if the demon didn't tighten his grip on her.
Yunhee had just realised that during the time of which she nearly succumbed to her injuries, the demon's hand had crawled to her waist quickly and stopped her from probably falling flat on her face. "T-Thanks," Yunhee stuttered, she sounded flustered. He let out a hum as a response. He grabbed the collar of her shirt and pulled herself up.
Instantly, she slapped the cuff on him, grinning in satisfaction as he gave her an evil glare. "I should have left you to die," he sneered, "Makes my life much easier." "Can"t get rid of me that easily, Hellboy," she smugly replied, "We're stuck together."
...
The long trek back took almost two hours.
Yunhee was close to collapsing at the time they walked through the castle's gates, leaning against the stone wall to support herself. "Yunhee-Noona," a boy with short black hair bowed to her, "Her Majesty is requesting for you." The demon scowled at the new presence, folding his arms as he hissed.
"I-I-Is t-that a-a-"
"Save it, Jimin. Tell her I'll be there shortly," Yunhee cuts him off, straightening herself. The boy, now introduced as Jimin, bowed again and quickly scampered off. She gave the demon a glare before trudging towards the castle, leaving the demon outside.
He couldn't possibly cause harm right?
Right?
The demon decided to take a little stroll, somehow finding himself in the village of Euphoria. Children scampered around, playing games or just talking to each other. Vendors crowded the streets, hoping to snag people in to buy their products.
Of course, his horns, wings and tail were very noticeable, so it didn't take long for the people to spot him, screams of pure fear escaping their mouths as they scattered in multiple directions, vendors closing their shops, parents taking their children away to hide, leaving the streets barren and lifeless.
