haerin paced back and forth in her room, her mind restless with boredom.

she longed to fill the silence with the melodious tunes of her violin, but a pang of disappointment struck her as she remembered its unfortunate fate.

the instrument had slipped from her balcony and fallen, leaving her violin broken and in need of repair at the luthier's workshop.

without her cherished violin, haerin found herself lost in a sea of idle time.

in her restlessness, haerin accidentally stepped on a loose floorboard, causing it to creak and open slightly. her heart skipped a beat as she stumbled, but luckily she managed to regain her balance before tumbling to the floor.

curiosity sparked within her, urging her to investigate further. so she decided to give the floorboard a gentle push with her foot. and to her surprise, it opened, revealing a hidden compartment beneath.

intrigued, haerin knelt down and carefully examined the mysterious contents within.

nestled in the hidden space was a small box, beckoning her with its enigmatic aura.

she couldn't resist the temptation and cautiously pulled the box out, ensuring to close the floorboard behind her.

upon closer inspection, haerin noticed that a single word was faintly written on the box, but time had worn away the ink, leaving only a few faded streaks behind.

she was disappointed that she couldn't decipher the word's meaning. nonetheless, she shrugged off her curiosity and hopped onto her bed, bringing the box along with her.

with an air of anticipation, haerin unsealed the tape that bound the box and carefully lifted its lid.

a wave of nostalgia washed over her as she peered inside, discovering an assortment of... vhs tapes?

the sight bewildered her-why would someone keep a collection of outdated vhs tapes in this day and age?

she couldn't help but wonder if the younger generation, born into a digital era, would even recognize such relics (well, watching movies that took place in the 90s helps haerin understand what in the world vhs tapes were).

out of boredom, she decided to dig around the box with her eyes closed, attempting to get multiple random vhs tapes.

after what felt like an eternity, her fingers finally closed around three tapes. as she gingerly cradled it in her hands, she couldn't help but notice its faded brown hue, evidence of its age and the countless hands that had touched it before.

the labels, worn and weathered, bore the scars of time, while a delicate layer of dust had settled upon its surface.

she wanted to play the vhs tapes, but she didn't even have a vhs player to begin with.

"haerin! your friends are here!" haerin jumped as she heard his dad's thunderous voice shout from downstairs.

she hurriedly grabbed the cassette tapes scattered all around her bed, placing them into the box. she then carried the box up and shoved it under her bed, placing the ones she picked randomly back then into her pockets.

"haerin?" her dad's booming voice called out once again. "coming!" she responded loudly, making sure her voice was audible to him on the first floor.

she quickly made her way down the staircase, trying her best not to trip on her steps.
