I walked out the door and glanced at my phone. There were so many things I had neglected because my "wife" had decided to run away.

My wife...

It was so strange. If we hadn't done this madness to get married, I probably wouldn't have done it any time soon. It was too early for me, even for just getting married on paper. But this rebellious witch was alluring. I remembered how her body responded to my touches without any resistance - so natural and fiery. But her mind resisted, at least for a little while. I smirked. Poor thing. She refused to give in so stubbornly.

My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of my phone ringing. It was my brother.

"What?" I said.

"Congratulations, bro!" I could hear the laughter in Daniel's voice. "When were you going to tell me the good news?"

"I don't have time for your bullshit," I replied curtly.

"It seems like you had plenty of time to do some big time bullshit," he said, his voice now serious.

„Shut your mouth!"

"How's Bia? I talked to Taylor and he filled me in," my brother asked.

"She's fine. We'll be heading back to the mansion soon," I replied.

"Tell me..." I heard a sneer in his voice again. "Why are you in such a hurry with the marriage? Are you afraid I might take her away from you?"

I hung up on him.

I knocked on the door and walked in without waiting for a response. Bia was already dressed in a short white blouse and a dark blue high-waisted skirt, paired with white sneakers. Her hair was pulled up in a messy bun, giving her a cute and sexy look. She shot me an angry look as I entered the room.

"I didn't say you can come in," she said sharply.

"We're leaving!" I replied irritably, my tone intolerant.

"No, we're not leaving until we figure out what I'm going to tell my mom."

I nervously ran my fingers through my hair before answering her.

"You already know what you're going to tell her."

"Оh yeah, right! I almost forgot about this one - that I fell in love like a fool at first sight with a jerk like you?" she said with a sweetly wry smile. "It won't work, Ice. Come up with something more believable."

I approached her, invading her personal space. I knew I was going to intimidate and annoy her at the same time.

"You'll call her and tell her exactly that." I said impatiently, stressing out on each word. "You might wanna skip the part with the jerk." I was being sarcastic. "It's the safest thing to do right now and you know it. If you choose not to do it, you'll be putting your parents in danger. You can be brave as you want, but you'll suffer the consequences."

She looked at me with hostility, but her expression softened when I mentioned the safety of her parents. I knew I had won, but I also realized I was being too harsh with her. Bia didn't respond to me, but held out her hand for the phone. I gave it to her and she walked over to the window to make the call.
