If You Want Blood (You've Got It) - AC/DC

It's criminal, There ought to be a law
Criminal, There ought to be a whole lot more
You get nothin' for nothin'
Tell me, who can you trust?
We got what you want
And you got the lust
If you want blood, you've got it

"Eleven Wakandans were among those killed during a confrontation between the Avengers and a group of mercenaries in Lagos, Nigeria last month. The traditionally reclusive Wakandans were on an outreach mission in Lagos, when the attack occurred."

Steve watched the news, wracked with guilt.

The screen switched to what looked like a press conference with a man, labelled on the TV as King T'Chaka of Wakanda. Steve continued watching as he spoke.

"Our people's blood is spilled on foreign soil. Not only because of the actions of criminals, but by the indifference of those pledged to stop them. Victory at the expense of the innocent, is no victory at all."

The screen switched back to the news anchor as she spoke again.

"The Wakandan king went on to-" Steve switched the TV off, he couldn't listen to any more.

He felt his phone ring in his pocket and when he saw Amara's name on the screen he picked it up, "Hey."

"Hey, Steve. We have a problem."

"What? The news?"

"You saw it?"

"Yeah. King T'Chaka's speech was... anyway, what about it?"

"You haven't seen the articles?"

"What articles?" Steve asked, sitting up, wondering how much worse this could get.

"I just sent them over."

Steve opened the photos Amara had sent him.

"I've only looked at a few, but... they're all saying it's Wanda's fault."

"How can they blame her? She only tried to help."

"I know. But right now, you have to check she's okay. I'm on my way home, I just thought you'd know what to say."

"Yeah. I got it."

"Thanks."

"Bye."

Steve hung up the phone and heard the faint sound of another news report, coming from Wanda's bedroom.

"They are operating outside and above the international law. Because that's the reality, if we don't respond to acts like these."

Steve opened Wanda's bedroom door and walked in, the TV still on.

"What legal authority does an enhanced individual like Wanda Maximoff have to operate in Nigeri-" Steve switched the television off.

Steve stood in the doorway with his arms crossed, wondering whether he should say something.

But Wanda spoke first, "It's my fault."

"That's not true," Steve said instantly.

"Turn the TV back on. They're being very specific."

"I should've clocked that bomb vest long before you had to deal with it," he began to walk towards her. "Rumlow said "Bucky" and all of a sudden I was a 16-year-old kid again, in Brooklyn," he sat down next to Wanda on her bed. "And people died. It's on me."
