Ceilings - Lizzy McAlpine
It feels like the start of a movie I've seen before
But it's not real, And you don't exist
And I can't recall the last time I was kissed
It hits me in the var and it feels like the end of a movie I've seen before"What do we do now?" Amara asked her father and her friend as the ship they were in cruised over the clouds between Berlin and New York.
"I'm not entirely sure," Steve replied, pacing back and forth.
"Best bet is go home, wait for the others to be released and then come up with a plan," Tony nodded, more to himself than to the others.
"No, we can't wait around. We have to do something, now. Between the situation with Bruce and that synthetic vibranium... we need the team."
"And how do you expect to get that team when they're behind bars?" Tony rebutted.
"And Nat? We still have to find her," Steve pointed out.
"We know, Steve. Trust me, I want Nat back just as much as you," Amara held up her hand in reason.
Steve nodded and Amara shrugged.
"I'm also way ahead of you guys," Tony spoke up.
"Wait, what are you talking about?" Steve asked.
"Give me a minute."
"Kid?" Steve looked at the girl, but she simply scrunched her eyebrows in confusion.
"Don't look at me, I have no idea."
"I've been scouring the news for any hints or clues for where murder girl could be. Take a look at this," he handed his phone over to Steve and Amara leaned over to see, too. It was a report, filed into the Avengers database by Ross.
"Red room... Dreykov... eliminated?" Amara read out loud from the phone. She looked up at her father, "When was this?"
"Three days ago," Tony said.
"No, no that can't be right," she shook her head, "give me that," she took the phone and scrolled upwards to find the date it was filed, which ended up being, indeed, three days ago.
"What do you know about this?" Steve asked Amara.
"What, no, this is wrong."
"What do you mean it's wrong?" Tony asked.
"Nat told me about the red room. About Dreykov. She eliminated both of them years ago. When she first joined SHIELD. She told me herself."
"Wait the red room? As in..." Steve started but then trailed off.
"Yeah," Amara nodded confirming Steve's suspicions. "But I don't understand. She said it was gone, destroyed."
"It wasn't. Dreykov found a way to keep the place alive. The bastard even continued the widow program, but made it way more... rigorous," Tony looked between Amara's and Steve's confused faces. "Romanoff found out and took it down once and for all. Ross and his team found her just after she did. They wanted to bring her in, but she got away, as expected."
"But you know where she is, now," Steve said. It wasn't a question, he knew that he did. Even though their relationship has always been rocky, they knew each other well enough.
"I did some digging," Tony nodded. "Found a guy. Specialises in acquiring supplies for people on the run. I ran a quick trace and figured out he used to be one of Romanoff's contacts. My guess? She reached out him again, she didn't have anyone else to contact, I mean you guys were all in prison or... you know," he gestured to Steve, who looked down. "I got in contact with the guy, I don't know her exact location, but I will. And so will you," Tony assures Steve.
