'I CAN'T KILL HIM...'

Tears run down my face.

I knew what I had to do.

But it was too much.

He extended his arms.

I was paralyzed.

I close my eyes.

He then...

Hugs me.

I gasp as the little demon boy was hugging me.

—Me: "[B/n]...?"

In response his snuggles further into my belly and whines.

I kneel down in tears.

—"Do you remember me?"

He nods excitedly.

—"Oh dear..."

I hug him once more.

After that, I wipe my tears and look around for something. I see a bamboo stick laying around.

I grab it and use a rope from my Nichirin Blade's handle and make a nuzzle.

I tie it around [B/n]'s mouth. Placing a hand on his cheek I smile at him reassuringly.

—"For safety measures."

I then frantically looked around. Noticing a cave, I hold [B/n] up and cover him with my haori.

I run to the cave and place him there safely.

—"[B/n]... I don't have much time... so listen carefully. Stay here. Do not leave this cave. I will come back for you, ok?"

His eyebrows furrowed in worry but he nods.

—[B/n]: "Mn!"

I smile and kiss his forehead.

—"See you soon."

That's when I disappeared back to the future.

[...]

—Jay: "Did we just, uh...?"

—Kai: "Return to the future?"

—"I think we did."

—Jay: "[Y/n]! Where were you!? I was so worried!!"

—"I got lost in a different matter... Anyways, has the future been saved?"

—Cole: "Well it feels familiar, but weren't we training Lloyd?"

—Zane: "The future was altered and there is no Green Ninja."

That's when Lloyd comes panting.

—Lloyd: "Sorry I'm late, guys. Are we ready to get training?"

—Kai: "Ha! You're still here!"

—Lloyd: "Uh, yeah. Why wouldn't I be?"

—Jay: "So when we went back in time and destroyed Garmadon's Mega Weapon, that didn't change anything?"

—Lloyd: "My father has a Mega Weapon?"

—Kai: "Oh, wait a minute, you've never heard of it?"

Kai slices the melon and hands a piece to everyone.

—Lloyd: "I-I think I would've remembered that. Why? What is it? Should I be concerned?"

The ninja began to laugh.

—Lloyd: "Hey, what are you guys laughing at? What's so funny?"

He then carves a dragon out of his slice. I give him a mini clapping.

—Kai: "Hahaha, I think some things are best left in the past. Come on. Let's just prepare for the future."

They all laugh.

—Lloyd: "I don't get it."

—"Ignore them."

[...]

—Lloyd: "[Y/n]? Are you leaving somewhere?"

I nod at him and get the big basket on my back.

—Jay: "Huh? Where are you going??"

—Cole: "Should we come with?"

—"No need. I'll go alone... I'll be back soon."

They all give me concerned looks but nod.

—Kai: "Alright then, good luck ok your journey."

—"Thank you"

[...]

I walk my way to the forest I left [B/n] at. Worried thoughts clouded my mind.

'will he still be there?'

'Is he ok?'

'Will I find him?'

'Has he eaten someone?'

I spot the cave and march towards it.

—"[B/n]...?"

I see [B/n] sleeping... the sight makes me smile to myself.

—"Sunshine... I am back."

He whines and wakes up. As soon as he sees me, his eyes go wide and he hugs me. Luckily it was already dark out.

—"I missed you too, sun"

He gives a "hm" of happiness.

I take the basket from my back and put it in front of him.

—"Could you fit in, sun?"

He tilts his head but walks towards it. Then, he puts his head and upper body in.

—"Uh— I think you're too big for—"

I gasp as I see him shrink. Making his position comforting in the basket he looks up at me and beams.

—"Aw... aren't you just adorable?"

I pinch his cheek.

—"Now go back to sleep, sun"

I kiss his forehead and but the basket's cap on.

I carry the basket on my back.

Relief washed over me. I knew [B/n] ate no person since the muzzle was still the way she left it.

Now it's time to return.
