Kaitlyn's room was a mix of messy and organized, as her clothes were thrown all over the floor, but everything else was neatly arranged, or in boxes, as she had yet to fully unpack after her move. Her new promotion to Royal Archer gave her her own room, but she had much more responsibilities and work to do. But today was Sunday, the only full day out of the week that Kaitlyn got off if that wasn't a holiday. The audio clock read 7:55 A.M. just five minutes before it would turn on the morning news radio station to wake Kaitlyn from her slumber. The curtains blocked the sun from invading Kaitlyn's new room, but what it could not block was the noise of industrial Steelville beneath it. The Military barracks were not normally inside the industrial district, but where Kaitlyn was stationed she was just right outside of it. As the clock hit 8 A.M. the radio began to loudly play the local news.

"Today is going to be sunny with a low chance of a rogue shower, but nothing to cancel your plans over. Now..." The news was cut off as Kaitlyn slammed her fist on the clock, turning it off.

"Gahhmugph," Kaitlyn yawned as she rose out of bed and slipped into her purple fuzzy slippers. Her dirty blonde hair was a mess, and she wore a black t-shirt, with purple shorts. Kaitlyn stretched as she walked over to her desk and flipped open her agenda. The date was Sunday, November, 13th 1949. The square for the day had a note with a blue pen read

"Meet Zac at Bluebird Café for breakfast at 9:30 A.M.!!!!"

"Oh yeah, that's what I'm doing today. I wonder, what is it that Zac wanted to talk about?" Kaitlyn asked herself as she grabbed her shower basket. Her new promotion gave her a new room, but she still had to use the communal showers, she wouldn't be getting her bathroom until she became a Royal Colonel, and that was still a ways away. Kaitlyn left her room and entered the hallway. The carpet was brown with visible wear while the walls were tan with informational posters and corkboards littered along the walls. After a few more steps, she made her way to the women's locker room. She pushed the heavy metal door open and entered the grey-tiled room. She kept her head down as she made her way to her locker, number 456. It was near the back and had a bottom locker too. Lucky for Kaitlyn the locker room and showers were mostly empty as most people had already started their day. Kaitlyn opened her locker and took out her shower flip-flops, they were lime green, but they got the job done. She sat on the bench and changed her footwear to prevent her feet from ever touching the disgusting tile floor. She grabbed her shower basket and made her way to an open shower.
