The hospital room was still. Kaitlyn laid on the bed with multiple machines hooked up to her monitoring her vitals and trying to get her to wake up. A younger possible teen walked into the room, his facial features were similar to Kaitlyn's but he had brown hair compared to Kaitlyn's blonde. He had gauges in his ears and wore a blue plaid hoodie and black jeans.
"Hey sis it's me, Mark," Mark said, his voice choking up as he walked to her bedside, "Please wake up, don't leave me like they did," Mark said as tears fell onto Kaitlyn's hand.
"Oh sorry I have the wrong room," A man said as he half-entered the room. He wore a red trench coat, he wore glasses, and his light brown hair was slicked to one side. Mark looked up to see the man's back as he walked out into the hallway.
"Wait who are you looking for," Mark asked, to potentially help the stranger.
The stranger turned to face Mark.
"Kaitlyn Glidden," the stranger said.
"Oh I'm Mark Glidden, Kaitlyn's younger brother, you have the right place, sir," Mark said confused about how this man knew his sister.
"Oh! Nice to finally meet you, Mark, I'm Zac, a friend of Kaitlyn from the military."
"So how did you two meet?" Mark asked Zac. The two sat at a small table against the window in Kaitlyn's hospital room.
"We met when she was training at my fort," Zac said as he fondly remembered the memories the two made, "Anyways, I'm pretty sure she will wake up soon, she's pretty tough for an archer," Zac said as he turned to look at Kaitlyn. Zac stood up and walked over to Kaitlyn. He stood over her as his hand glowed green, soon enveloping Kaitlyn's body in the energy.
"What are you doing?" Mark asked as he has never seen healing magic as no one in his family has been born with a connection to magic for generations. Zac shut his eyes and focused on Kaitlyn's internal injuries. Zac stumbled back as the green energy turned from a steady flow to tiny sparks.
"W-w-what happened?" Kaitlyn asked, her voice hoarse.
"Sis!?" Mark shouted as he ran to his sister's side.
"M-Mark? Zac? W-Why are you here? Why a-am I in the hospital?" Kaitlyn continued to ask questions, her voice still weak.
"Hey, relax, you're fine, you just passed out during an attack," Zac reassured Kaitlyn as she sat up with her little strength, "I'm going to go get a nurse," Zac said before walking out leaving the siblings alone again.
