*chapter 1*

Y/n's pov

I woke up early in the morning and got up immediately. I was excited excited. Tomorrow is my birthday tomorrow I'll turn 18 and finally meet my wolf. I haven't shifted yet am excited and nervous at the same time cause they say shifting for the first time hurts a lot but who cares about that part. It will hurt just for a little while and get better later and I can bear a little pain.

I just wished my parents were here to see me shift for the first time. It has been 7 years since they died and it hadn't gotten any easier.

They were both murdered by rouges

Rouges are wolves that don't belong to a pack. They become rouges when they either get exiled from the pack for committing some kind of crime or some of them simply choose to live the rouge life. But that's rare though cause we wolves are pack animals. We don't like being alone. When a wolf chooses to become rouge it's mostly because something bad happened to them in the pack or they lost their mate and went crazy and left the pack

The rouges don't work with other wolves like a pack they work alone but when they attacked us 7 years ago they came as a pack, which was odd. After that night our Alpha realized that one wolf gathered all the rouges to attack various packs. They call him the Rouge King the attacks never stopped after that night. They have attacked many packs.

On the night of the attack. They tried to kill our Alpha's son we all gathered to celebrate his 18th birthday and his first shift. Once he shifted, he would start training to become the next alpha. But his father our former alpha MyungDae was killed by the rouges so he was forced to become the alpha immediately. And he did a great job. He finished his training and made our pack one of the strongest packs

My father was MyungDae's beta. He and my mom died trying to protect our alpha and Luna and their son that was their job.

After their death, my brother Taehyung became the beta. He and our alpha were best friends since childhood and now they get to run a pack together

My brother is a great beta. And the best brother he was only 17 when our parents died. He had to take care of the pack and me. He never complained. He took the responsibilities and gave his best and he did do his best. He always made sure that I was safe and taken care of. He still does.

I finished high school a few months ago, and all I have to do now is train. after the attacks, my brother and our alpha decided that all the members must train to be able to protect themselves.

There is a rule in our pack that all must go through high school. it is similar to a human high school but here we learn about the rules, laws, and history of our pack and everything needed to help the pack to function properly. like if the wolf is interested in agriculture, he/she will learn more about plants and our food supplies. if a wolf is interested in defending the pack then he/she will learn more about our defenses and attack formations and they will get to train more than the rest of us. I chose to the alpha run our pack. it was natural to me. my brother is the beta I wanted to help him all I could. so learned all about the pack laws and everything that's needed to run the pack successfully

we have to train every day but tomorrow I get a day off cause it's my birthday and my first shift. it is a special occasion. the first shift is very important cause you get to meet both your wolf and your mate.

a mate is your special someone. picked by the moon goddess. your mate is the most important person in your life. you will fall in love with them instantly. you want to need to be with them and protect them.

my brother still hasn't found his mate. neither did our alpha. so until he finds his mate his mother queen Ji-won still has the Luna title and does the Luna duties.

she had a hard time after her mate. our former alpha passed away. she almost didn't make it. when your mate dies your will to live will go away. however, she recovered and she is an amazing Luna. I love her a lot. She helped me and my brother when our parents passed. She is like a mother to me

I asked her to be present at my shift. she accepted. it is a big deal to be present for a wolf's first shift. well in our pack it is. every pack has its traditions. in our pack, the wolf gets to choose who can be present during the shift. and it is a great honor to be chosen.

I chose my brother, and my best friends Jennie and Eunwoo, and Luna Ji-won. they were all honored and excited.

I couldn't wait to shift. it's going to be awesome. I am very excited.

I went to brush my teeth and get ready as I had to go train soon. I put on black tights, a gym bra, and a grey hoodie, I wore my black sneakers. I tied my long black hair into a ponytail and went downstairs.
