Nine

The school bell had already rung when Haesoo arrived at school since she woke up late and found out her brother had already left for his college classes

She was walking rather slowly to her class, even though she knew she was late. She didn't bother anyways after she placed some of her belongings in her locker she made her way to her classroom, already ready to have a scolding from her teacher

Though when she entered the classroom the teacher wasn't there

She didn't question it but rather she walked to her seat behind Narae, Narae greeted her before she spoke

"No teacher yet?" she asked and Narae shook her head, "I think we're just waiting for our subject teacher now"

Narae and Haesoo began conversing with one another while awaiting for their teacher, "have you studied for the test?"

"We have a test?"

"Not today..."

"We have a test?" Narae sighed and her lips made a thin line, "yes we do"

"I did not know that," Narae chuckled and smiled, "of course, you didn't"

Haesoo rolled her eyes at her friend who can predict the obvious

The door suddenly opened revealing the teacher and everyone stopped talking and faced the front, they all greeted him in sync and he smiled at the class, "alright everyone grabs your notebooks we're starting a new lesson before we review our previous one"

Everyone listened as well as Haesoo, but even though she seemed prepared and ready, she began to scribble in her notebook but it looked like she was 

Her vision suddenly focused on the boy who was sound asleep, Sunghoon. She wondered why her teacher hadn't called him out yet since he was sleeping during the lesson, she didn't complain though since she would do the same

'I'd rather sleep than listen to this as well—'

"Haesoo! Can you tell us why this is the most important part to remember?" the teacher cut her thoughts off

"Uhh..." she took a quick view of what was written on the board but she was hesitant, "because... It's the first invention of the scientist..." Her eyes focused on the number written before the information that the teacher was pointing at

She sighed in relief when she was correct, she didn't even know which scientist invented that

Once the class ended Haesoo immediately went up to some of her other classmates who she knew were somehow close to Sunghoon

"Hey Haesoo," one greeted her, "hi, I have a question"

"What is it?"

"How come Sunghoon is so sleepy that he slept through the whole class?" one laughed, "you wish that were you Haesoo?" she nodded quickly

"He had figure skating practice till late at night, the teacher knows"

'Figure skating?' she thought, "thanks, love you"

She walked away from them after getting the answer she needed and walked towards the sleeping figure, she tapped his shoulder repeatedly until he wasn't sleeping anymore. He seemed confused the moment he was awake 

"Sleepyhead let's go next class," Sunghoon nodded and grabbed his belongings before he followed the girl out

The reason why she woke him up and now walking together was because she wanted to know about his sport, figure skating

"How come you just didn't go to school today?"

"Because my parents said so..." he said sounding sleepy, "how long have you been figure skating?"

"Since I was around eight... I think," Sunghoon thought to himself as he spoke, here comes the talkative side again

He didn't mind it, he was just thinking about it. Another interrogation of hers

"That's cool, so you compete too?"

"Yes I do," Haesoo was actually invested in the conversation and was interested to know more about it

"I've been ice skating before, but I suppose not how you take it, since yours is more serious"

Sunghoon nodded to her comments, "Do you enjoy it a lot?"

"Mhm," he hummed in response, as Haesoo continued talking and adding things, the more Sunghoon had to respond to her

After what seemed like a long conversation, Haesoo said goodbye to Sunghoon and walked up to Narae when she saw her from afar. She called out to her before she ran up to her and Narae slowly made her way toward her as well

"I was looking for you," Narae says, she noticed Sunghoon who wasn't as far from them, "you were talking to Sunghoon?" she asked where Haesoo hummed in reply

"What were you two talking about?"

"Oh! I found out he does figure skating," Narae was interested in the conversation, "Really?"

"Yeah, we're sort of friends now I suppose"

As the two walked and moved on from a different topic, Sunghoon heard what Haesoo said and was a little surprised but he accepted it instead

'I guess we're friends now'
