Chapter four:Family Ties

Damon entered his room, but stopped in the doorway when he saw Nathaniel.
Nathaniel was sitting on the bed reading his grimoire.
"Thanos... What are you doing here?"
The said older brother closed his grimoire and set it aside.
"Good morning to you too, little brother. I heard that you are planning on going to the Founders' Ball."
"Yes, I am. But I will need Blondie. What about you, Thanos?"
Nathaniel smirked.
"My dear friend Carol invited me, so yes I am going."
Damon looked at his older brother questioningly.
"You have a date? With who?"
Nathaniel looked at the youngest of the two innocently, making Damon groan.
"That's for me to know and for you to find out."

Nathaniel walked toward the door of the Gilbert Residence after having parked Roscoe nearby, but stopped as soon as he saw Stefan going in and the door closing behind him.
He rolled his eyes before going toward the house and ringing the bell.
The door opened and there stood Jenna who smiled at Nathaniel when she saw him.
She moved a little and let Nathaniel walk in.
"Good morning, Niel. You are already here"
Nathaniel looked at the smiling face of Jeremy and the shock faces of Elena and Stefan -who were near the stairs- before looking at Jenna with a smile.
Jeremy looked at Jenna before looking at Nathaniel.
"Why are you here, Nate?"
"Good morning to you too, Jenna. I came here because Jenna wanted my opinion about her dress for the Ball."
Jeremy looked at Jenna and she nodded her head with a small smile.
"Alright, Nate."
Nathaniel nodded before looking at Stefan with a small smile.
"Baby brother, I didn't know you would be here, too."
Stefan smiled getting over his internal and esternal shock, unlike Elena who was gaping at him.
"Neither did I thought that you would be here, big brother."
The two smiled one last time before looking away from eachother.
