Fluffing heck- I never expected to be making an extra chapter to celebrate 100k reads, but here I am!! Thank you so much, generous demons, for the continued support ^^ (also I am sorry it's a bit late)
Users I used as characters:
Laila - @Laila_dweeb (flower girl)
Sakura - @AngelicSakurapetals (wedding planner)
I took creative liberty with the personality and appearances, I hope that's okay.——————— (timeskip again, just a few months this time)
Sabito had never worn a suit before. Before a week ago, he'd never had a reason or a good excuse to. And he was glad he never did, because dear god, they were uncomfortable. The stiff fabric made his skin itch whenever it rubbed against his wrists or neck, and it barely had any range of motion. How do people work in these? I didn't know clothes could provoke claustrophobia.
After finding a light gray one that wasn't too outrageously expensive and that still got the Tsukiko stamp of approval, Sabito bought the garment and left to find Makomo. This was his end of the preparations; the deal was that Giyuu would take care of setting everything up with Tanjiro and his friends, while the peach-haired male would get affairs sorted out that weren't directly involved with decorating. For example, keeping their hyper, adopted daughter busy, and getting invitations out. With only one night left before the big day, there was still a lot to do, and no one was fully rested. It made him grateful for all the help they were getting; without everyone pitching in, they wouldn't have gotten to the point they were at now.
We've got a crow delivering Urokodaki's invitation, I need to drop Tsukiko off at Makomo's place so they can shop for dresses, and I need to talk to Sakura. Sabito listed his to-do list in his head, counting them off on his fingers. Am I sure I'm not forgetting anything..?
"Hey, papa?" Tsukiko looked up at her father.
Glancing down at her, he smiled. "Yeah?"
"Will anything be different after you and Gi Gi get married?"
He shook his head. "Not really, why?"
"I thought that you get a kid when you marry someone.."
A snort of laughter escaped him. "Who told you that?"
"Zenitsu did," she said blatantly. "I don't want another sibling."
"Of course he did," Sabito muttered. "Don't worry, you're the only daughter we need."
The child hummed, thinking it over, then nodded. "Okay!" A moment later, she piped up again. "Is Laila going to pick a dress too?"
Sabito nodded. Laila was a new friend of Tsukiko's. The two had met at school, and quickly became the best of friends. It had gotten to the point at which the dark-haired child had refused to be flower girl unless Laila could as well. And since Giyuu and Sabito had grown fond of their daughter's friend as well, they agreed to her terms. "You, Makomo, and Laila are going to go buy dresses together, remember? We went over this yesterday."
She giggled. "I wasn't listening- I was playing with Jinx's kittens!"
"You little demon," Sabito laughed, squeezing her small hand.
"It not my fault! Rascal was jumping at me, and MJ was trying to catch him! It was funny!"
"I'm sure it was, princess. Now go get the prettiest dress you find," the peach-haired man instructed, shooing Tsukiko off to where Makomo and Laila stood waiting. He watched her for a moment, then waved to Makomo and left. Now I have to meet with Miss Sakura.
He and Giyuu had already met with the wedding planner beforehand to discuss where and when would be a good time to hold the ceremony; Sabito just wanted to confirm a few things. So, he soon found himself sat in a cozy room, the faint scent of flowers dancing around him. Outside the veranda, pink cherry blossoms twirled in the air, playing with the golden rays of the afternoon sun. Looking around, his eyes drank in the faded cream color of the wallpaper, the way it contrasted perfectly with the small splashes of color blooming from flowerpots placed around the room. As the door to his left slid open, Sabito turned his head to greet her with a smile.
