Hellooooo
I got plenty of sleep last night, so I have energy to burn!
I gotta get this chapter done before I study, so I'm going to speed run this one.

Giyuu's POV:
I froze, staring into Sabito's eyes. "I'm your boyfriend?" I asked. I silently cursed myself for letting the question come out as more of a squeak instead of normal speech.

He let his hands slip from my cheeks to rest comfortably around my waist, a gesture I knew and found comfort in. "If that's okay with you, then yes." A contagious, warm smile graced his face, and I felt it spreading to mine.

"Yes yes yes!" I buried my face in Sabito's chest, enough excitement and happiness rising up in me to last a lifetime. Suddenly aware that someone outside might hear, I lowered my voice and said just as enthusiastically, "I'd he honored to be your boyfriend, Sabito."

His arms tightened around me, and my heart warmed when he planted a kiss on the top of my head. We stayed like that for a minute before Sabito sighed deeply and muttered, "You should probably head over to the meeting, Yuu."

I groaned quietly. "Are you sure I can't just skip it and stay here with you?"

"You could, but that would raise questions, and you might get in trouble." He slipped a finger under my chin and tilted my head up to look at him. A kiss on my forehead made my face heat up, and I was certain my cheeks were tinged with pink. "I'll be here when you get back."

"Fine," I mumbled, pulling away from him reluctantly. I stepped over to the door and went outside, stepping into the harsh sunlight with a mild scowl on my face. As I made my way over to the other hashira, I fixed my annoyed look so I looked as emotionless as before. Talking to one person paled in comparison to interacting with eight, most of my distaste for it came from my exchanges with Shinobu Kocho, the insect pillar. She made every second I spent around her a living hell, and no one deserved to get punched in the face more than her.

With every step I took, I wished more and more that I had brought Sabito with me. The first to notice me walking up to them was Kyojuro Rengoku, who nodded towards me respectfully. I returned the gesture, standing a few yards away from the closest person, who just so happened to be Shinobu.

She acknowledged my presence with a obviously fake smile, turning back to Mitsuri and their conversation. The love pillar grinned genuinely and knowingly in my direction, Iguro looked away, Shinazugawa refused to stop glaring at me, Uzui and Gyomei were indifferent to my existence, and Tokito was just looking up at the clouds. I could never tell what the young mist hashira was thinking, if he had any thoughts at all.

Let's just get this over with, I thought.

Sabito's POV
I watched Giyuu leave through the window, keeping a close eye on him until he was out of my sight. Then I spent the next ten minutes trying to decide what to do while he was gone. I couldn't exactly leave, because I needed to be in the house when Giyuu got back, and I don't know how long the meeting would last.

I should have asked when he would be back.

My mind drifted back to the dirty bowls on the counter, so I made my way over to the kitchen to clean them. Once I was done with that, I went upstairs to Giyuu's room. The first thing I saw was his desk, the entire surface was covered in letters.

I shouldn't invade his privacy, I cautioned myself, turning towards the restroom. I should check, right?

Upon a closer inspection of the cabinets in his bathroom, I found exactly what I had expected, and dreaded. More razors, some more bloody than others, and all in equal stages of gross.

I frowned sadly as I picked each one up, bringing them downstairs to dump into the kitchen's trash. It was getting pretty full, so I decided to take it out. Hauling the bag with me, I stepped outside and looked around.

Where does Giyuu take his trash? I wondered. Maybe to the back of his house?

The pebbles crunched slightly under my feet as I walked around his house to the backside of it. I spied a few bags lying propped up against the wall, and I set mine down next to them. I had just turned around to head back inside, when I heard a small mewl rise from behind me. Out of confusion and curiosity, I turned my head to see what had made the noise, only to find a tiny white kitten with big black spots on its fur. The kitten's eyes were bright yellow, and we stared at each other for a few moments.

Maybe it smells the salmon from earlier.

"Hold on, kitty, I'll be right back. You stay there, okay?" I made a hand gesture for it to stay, and ran inside to grab some fish. Reaching the countertop, I ripped off a small chunk of salmon from the rest before going back outside. The cat was right where I had left it, but when it caught a whiff of the simmered salmon, it meowed excitedly and bounded over to me with wide eyes.

I held out my hand with the salmon in the center of my palm, and it dipped it's head and began to eat like it had never eaten before. I chuckled. "You sure are hungry, aren't you?" I reached out with my other hand to stroke it's head, but it batted at my fingers with a small hiss. "Jeez! I just gave you food and this is how you thank me?"

It meowed angrily at me, as if it were saying 'oh come on, you barely gave me anything!'

"Fine, you want more? Then you're coming inside with me." I scooped the kitten up, holding it securely against my chest so it didn't fall. It yowled dramatically, prompting me to hurry inside as fast as I could. Her (yes the kitten is a girl, I checked while I was holding her,) little claws were digging into my hands, so I set her down on the table gently to avoid being shredded.

I pulled out another chunk of salmon, putting it on a small plate for her to eat from. I placed the plate in front of her, and she crouched to gobble it all up. When she was finished, she turned away from me and jumped down from the table with a small thump of her paws hitting the ground. She scurried around the table and wove between my legs, purring and rubbing her cheeks against my clothes.

Cute, I reached down to pet her, but she batted my hand away before I got the chance. "Wow, spunky little thing, aren't you!" I sat down and let her sniff my hand. "I think I'll call you Jinx. Will you stay if I keep feeding you?"

She meowed up at me and swished her fluffy tail in agreement.

I hope Giyuu likes his present!
