The heavy rain beat on the window of the Great Hall, the whistling of the wind serving as background noise to the bustle of the students gathered for dinner. For some time now, everyone has been busy with the delicacies packed on their plates.

Harry, Ron, Hermione and Lily were chatting just like everyone else, though Harry was more interested in his potions book than his friends. He couldn't put it down, simply didn't have that much strength. Constantly reading the Half-Blood Prince's notes and advice, the boy started to annoy the others around him.

"Oh, honestly Harry, put that goddamn book down when we're eating!" Hermione slammed down her fork, glaring at her friend.

"You're one to say..." afraid of the consequences, Ron mumbled under his nose.

"Ronald!"

"Just saying!"

All two of them fell in silence again, watching Lily and Harry who were sitting on the bench in front of them.

"Anything to say?" Hermione asked Lily, waiting for her opinion.

The girl sighed, pushing away her plate. "Can't even eat here in peace anymore?"

The bushy haired girl shook her head in resignation, turning her attention back to the chicken in front of her. Ron did the same. Little did they know, together, they were both secretly eyeing Lily and Harry.

Minutes passed like this. Harry with his book, the girl next to him resting her face on her palm, sometimes also peeking in it. Ron and Hermione exchanged meaningful looks ever so often. But neither of them spook. That was until Hermione cleared her throat and turned to Lily.

"Lily."

She lifted her head from her palm, gaze fixed on the girl sitting in front of her. "Yes?"

"Wouldn't you like to go on a date with someone?" Anxiously and out of nowhere, she asked the strange question.

This seemed to get Harry's attention as he peeked up from the potions book, but not conspicuously.

"Not really... I'm not interested at the moment."

"I don't understand, why not?" Both she and Ron looked expectantly at the questioned girl.

"Well, I'm waiting for the chosen one" Lily shrugged. The two in front of her stared at her a bit shocked, Harry whipping his head up at that. The realization of what she've just said slowly sank in her mind as she looked between the three friends. Then it slowly spread on her face too.

"Are you?" Hermione smiled at her.

"The right one, I meant 'waiting for the right one'." Lily began to explain before her friends had any interesting thoughts.

The two boys looked at each other, raising their eyebrows and nodding along.

"Yeah, sure..." Hermione dug into her remained food one last time with a fork. She then locked eyes with a green pair of ones. "He's waiting for you too, isn't he Harry?"

Always being the confused one and involved in all kind of different situations, he just shot a faint smile at her and Ron's way.

Lily shrunk in her seat quite a bit, feeling like having a detention with Snape would be a hundred times better. So when her friends announced that they were done eating and wanted to head back to the commom room, she jumped at the chance and hurried out the door before they could see her. The girl didn't know where she was going yet, but as far away from her friends as possible.
