"Wherewolf?" James sat down next to Sirius by the Gryffindor table.

His best friend pretended to look around for a bit, pointing at the seat right in front of him. "Therewolf" both of them started giggling at their oh so funny joke.

Remus, poking at the potatoes on his plate, glared at the two who he agreed to befriend six years ago. "I'm going to murder you both" he muttered under his breath.

"Shh, we don't want our Moony to kill" next to the boy, Lyra whispered, she too watching James and Sirius enjoy the inside joke.

"And they think they're funny, all the time" Peter leaned forward, looking at Lyra from the boy's right side.

"I know, right?" Making sure to answer loudly and clearly so that the other two could get the hint, she also leaned forward to see her blond friend.

They were surrounded by the clatter of plates and cutlery, loud students' chatter, only them sitting and eating in silence. As always, the Great Hall was filled with delicious looking food for dinner and many, too many people. Remus didn't quite like that part of it.

The three listened to the conversation of the other two, not bothering with the small talk. What could they even talk about if their friend was in a bad mood all day?

"Okay, I'm done eating. Moony, Wormtail? Want to go back to the common room?" Lyra stood up, looking at the mentioned boys.

"Sure."

The three took off towards the Great Hall's door, a group of Ravenclaws right before them.

"Hey! What about us?" James shouted after them.

"You hear that, Remus?" Looking around, the girl's eyes finally settled on Remus' face.

"I have no idea what you're talking about. Wormtail, anything you'd like to add?"

"Negative" the short boy laughed.

Lyra Hansley was never much for large crowds or a larger circle of friends. In fact, she preferred to be left out of any social interaction that lasts longer than five minutes.

Maybe that's why Remus liked her so much. Maybe... one of the many reasons.

The girl was curled up in one of the armchairs of the Gryffindor common room, getting lost in the book in her lap. A handy list of poisons. One of her favorites.

It was already evening, the fire in the fireplace gently warming Lyra, covering the room with light.

She could've sworn that half an hour ago, the last student had collected his notes and gone to sleep. Even the midnight chess boys didn't stay long today. That's why she was surprised when, while reading about Wolfsbane and its origin, a voice came from somewhere.

"Shouldn't you put it down? You'll be blinded by this little light."

Grimacing, Lyra turned a page, coming face to face with the image of the purple, ground-shaped plant. She just chose to ignore whoever it was.

Another minute passed by in silence, only to be broken by the voice again, "I hope only for scientific reasons."

At first, the girl didn't say anything until she realized who was talking. He was there, probably, surely talking to her.
