All you can hear is the wind blowing in your ears along with the occasional screeching of tires and bellows of horns - maybe a few shouts here and there, or are those your own?

The only thing keeping your heart from leaping out of your chest right now is the vast amount of trust you hold towards Bucky. There are few people on this planet you'd be willing to get on the back of a motorcycle with, especially when they're driving twenty over the speed limit while weaving in and out of traffic as if one poorly timed turn won't kill you both.

"You hanging in there?!" He shouts back at you, although the way you keep hold of his waist in a death grip is going to have to be answer enough. He can't make out a word of what you mumble against his back.

"Sam, you copy?"

"Yeah, I copy. Where are you at? Torres says they have the meeting on lock down. No one's allowed in or out of the building."

"We're almost there, but it looks like they have the roads blocked off a few streets down."

"Ah, so you made up after all! That's great news! See, my advice is worth taking sometimes!"

Bucky scowls, and although Sam can't see it, he gets the feeling as if some sort of sixth sense.

"I'm almost there myself. Just keep your eyes out for Karli. She's gotta be close."

You tense as the bike comes to a rough stop in front of all of the police cars and barriers blocking the street. Bucky helps you down, however his focus only briefly stays with you before he's scanning your surroundings for any danger. There's already a crowd, eyes and cellphones turned towards the building which glows in a haunting red hue and the flicker of first responder lights.

"That's gotta be, like, fifty floors and they're probably already inside," You complain while struggling to remove the damn helmet that's been choking you for the last ten minutes.

"We'll stop them," Bucky says it so easily, yet you don't miss the strain in his expression. There's uncertainty looming over this situation you're about to enter. No one knows exactly what Karli is planning, but there's no denying how unstable and irrational she's become. She isn't above taking lives if it'll see her goals through.

"Stay close," It's a simple order as Bucky places his hand upon your lower back, guiding you through the crowd while using his shoulder to shove the more oblivious onlookers out of the way. The police guarding the perimeter give a second of protest once you appear in front of them, however they fall silent as soon as they recognize your partner. With respectful nods, they let you pass on by.

Although there's more air to breathe on this side of the street, the scene is no less chaotic. There's a variety of first responders on high alert, trying desperately to gain control of a situation they might as well be walking blind into. All attention is focused on the building in question, waiting anxiously for a sign as to what their next move should be.

"Has anyone gone in yet?" You rush over to a group of officers gathered near the front entrance, dressed head-to-toe in tactical gear. They give you a strange look to which you respond by standing straighter and trying to look more 'official' as you announce yourself by name, "I represent the Avengers - more specifically I manage that guy over there -"

You point over to Bucky, expecting to see him right by your side, but alas, he's already been separated from you after getting stuck in conversation with someone else along the way.

You decide to worry about that in a second, instead looking to the officers, "We need a breakdown of the situation if we're going to help - And before you write us off, I'd like to first inform you that these are super soldiers we're dealing with, not ordinary terrorists. They're not exactly keen on talking things over civilly with any of us, either. They're here to make a statement, not take hostages."
