Michael
As I walked across the field in my backyard I thought of all the seasons. Nothing was truly better than the season of winter. It wasn't the presents people got for Christmas, it wasn't for my birthday. Hell it was not even for the fact that we got out of school. It was the scenery, the snow falling from the sky at a slow pace, like it was in no hurry to go anywhere. The sound of crunch the snow made beneath my feet, that too counted for how amazing snow really was. Out of the corner of my eye I saw something falling through the sky, as I glanced to see what it was the rate of its fall was faster than anybody could count. I raised my arms up, expecting an impact, and seeing how fast that thing was moving I guessed it would have made a pretty good size hole. Seconds passed, and when nothing had happened I lowered my arms. Whatever that thing was, it was floating above the ground. To get a closer look at it I edged closer and closer, as soon as I was arms length from the shape of it came clearer. At first sight anybody would think it was some kind meteorite, but it didn't even resembled that up close. The orb like rock was smooth as a ball all the way around, the rainbow color orb started growing smaller in size it from its original form. Smoke started to crawl it's way out acting very ambulant, separating into what seemed like 3 different colors and in a instance they rose up into the sky spreading apart and heading in different directions. As much as I wanted to run away I couldn't, it was amazing. It was like a deadly bee, some of them look beautiful, even if it had a chance to sting you you couldn't look away. Two rods came out from under the orb and I jumped back in surprise. It closely looked like feet, second by second it started to transform. The waist began to form, not soon after that body came into shape. After 2 minutes the orb seemed to completely resemble a human, however with no face, the body was pure white. It turned its face to me and started to walk towards me. I screamed and started moving backward, how ever I wanted to look away my eyes stayed on the faceless body. My feet slipped underneath and I fell on my back. "Stay the hell away from me!" Though within a second it was standing in front of me. It stayed there, just staring at me. My fingers started freezing the longer my hand stayed in the snow. It reached out its hands and I retracted back, trying to get away. My hands slipped feel and I fell on my back again. Its hand getting closer, my breathing started getting heavier. Its glowing white hand landed on my chest, at first nothing happened searing pain soon followed. I closed my eyes and screamed in pain, it seemed like minutes passed as the pain spread through out my chest, traveling through my arms and legs. My eyes opened up slightly as I tried to see what was happening to me. The hand still on the same spot on my chest, when at last the pain subdued I slowly opened my eyes expecting to see white body there about to take my life. But I saw nothing, only black sky and snow flakes as they fell on my face. I felt my chest, but everything seemed to be there. Not even a hole through my jacket. My legs felt weak as I got up, crumbling below me as my knees fell on the white soft powder. It got to the point to where I could not even feel my fingers anymore, my body lifted itself up, attempting to make it to the house. I rubbed my hands together, trying to get the blood rushing. "What..just happened?" I asked myself, unable to even answer my own question. My feet, barely able to stand, shuffled it's self through the foot of snow each step more miserable than the last. I made it to the front door, lights shinning through the blinds of the windows. At first I would have planned on telling them what happened, but I don't even know what happened. Besides what was I going to say, a glowing white man came up to me and put his on my chest then just vanished? Maybe it was all just a hallucination, yea that had to be it. I slowed my breathing down, and closed my eyes trying to calm down. A minute passed before I opened up the door, seeing my family sitting in the couch. My dad sat to the left of me, while my mother laid besides him, laying her head on his shoulder his arms wrapped around her. I glanced over to see Haley on the opposite side of them both, her eyes focused on the phone in her hands. They heard me walk in and cocked their heads to see me, all save for Haley who was still focused on the 5 inch screen. We shared shared a quick smile before I took jacket off, shaking my boots as I slid them off my feet. It was like walking into a sauna, compared to what the ice cold weather outside was like. "You went for a long walk this time didn't you?" My mother said as I walked into the kitchen, grabbing a cup of cold water from the spout. "You could say that." I told her as I tipped the cup back, taking a drink. I walked into the living room, sitting on the same couch as my sister. "How long was I gone?" I asked. "Well, it's around midnight at the moment. I laid back, looking at the clock to see if what my father said true. Was I really gone for 2 hours? "Why is everyone still up then?" I glanced around the living room. "Now that you brought that up, I think it is time for my beauty sleep." Haley spoke up, sliding her phone into her pocket. "Yea, good luck with that." I mumbled. She slapped my head as she walked by, slamming her door to her room. "Looks like she's mad at you." My mother said, her eyes facing the television. "When is she not mad at me." I replied. Haley and I, we were supposedly twins, but we more different than anything else. However she has a way with getting me to do things I never usually did. A memory came to mind when she tempted jump out of a tree because she thought I would fly. I ended up with broken leg. I smirked, I was smarter now and there was no way that would ever happen again. Without talking I got up and headed up stairs to my bedroom. My family was a talkative group, even with 3 family members out of the house my sister and mother talked enough for 5 people. My father, he was a good man, he normally had cookouts, he got out often and he many friends. He loved taking trips, anything that could help him not think about the war he had been in. He never really talked about it, and I don't blame him. His father, and his father's father went to war, it made me and my brother Josh feel ashamed. I never wanted to go to war, and if I had to be drafted I would not last a week. Unlike the rest of my family members, I was not in the best of shape. I walked in my room, closing my door behind me as I stood in front of 7 feet mirror that was attached to wall. I was not a bad looking guy, if you thought pasty white and fragile was good looking. My body had felt heavy ever since I came back in from outside, sleeping seemed to be so comforting. I fell back landing on my bed, my back falling on the warm cotton, there was no need to change clothes. Even if there was a need for it my body was to sore. I laid there, staring up at the bleach color ceiling, my mind had kept going back to the white body. As much as I told myself it could not have happened, maybe it was real. Or maybe the it was so cold that my mind started to hallucinate, either way the only way to stop thinking about it was to have a good nights sleep. I closed my eyes, hoping my mind will drift away from the topic.*** My eyes opened to the sound of my alarm, waking me up to the day. I glanced over, squinting my eyes, looking at the time. Eight in the morning, was it this early already? I grunted, lifting my body off the soft bed and as welcoming as it was there was now way I could stay on it all day. I grabbed my clothes and towel, heading towards the bathroom. My feet shuffling across the carpet, not much sound was happening. The door was already opened by the time I made it to the bath room, as I started taking the shower; the warm water traveling down my body my mind started drifting back to last night. As much as I wanted to forget about it, there was no way that was going to happen. The freezing cool air hit my body, it was like walking into a meat freezer. My feet hit the stone cold tile like I was stepping on ice, I guess you could say that was the downfall of winter. Sure it was nice and toasty like an oven everywhere else, but the builders couldn't have put in a vent in the bath room could they. I wrapped the towel around my head, drying my hair off as I stepped in the front of the mirror. My eyes took a quick glance at the mirror, noticing nothing unusual until I snapped my head back, staring into the reflective glass. I rose my hand up to my chest, placing a few fingers on what seemed like a scar. Thought it wasn't, if anything it was a tattoo, a circle with a sword stabbed through it the blade going straight down with a bird sitting on the hilt spread its wing. It had amazing detail, but how did even get there? I don't even remember getting a tattoo. My mind brought back last night about the searing pain and I stumbled back against the wall. It was real, everything that happened last night was not a hallucination. My legs got weak as I started sliding down the wall, I lean my head on my face my breathing getting heavy. Minutes passed as my body stood still, my mind blank and my body shaking before I heard a knock on the door bringing back to my senses. "You going to hurry up in there Michael?!" Haley's voice went through the door like it was nothing. I sighed as I answered. "Yeah, In a moment." I got up, sliding my shirt and pants on before opening the door. "Took you long enough," She walked by. "And you kinda look like crap. Maybe go see mom about that." She slammed the door on my face. "Always nice talking to you too." I replied as I walked away. The smell of bacon had caught my scent and I traveled to the kitchen to see my mom cooking breakfast. "Well good morning to you!" She looked around and had a smile on her face. "You hungry?" She said and as two more pieces of bacon gathered into the bacon pile. "Oddly, I'm not feeling to hungry." My stomach growled, but I was far to sick and nervous to eat. "Where's dad at?" I asked as she grabbed toast out of the toaster. "He's in the shower at the moment, you need him for something?" I shook my head. "Not really, but if it's okay with you I need to go outside for a moment." "Sure honey! Just make sure you dress up warm." "Will do." I said, grabbing a piece of bacon off the plate and kissing her on the cheek. I may have not been able to eat, but there to always be room for bacon. My coat slid on with ease, along with my boots. I stepped outside, the sun hitting my eyes blinding me for a second, it was a clear blue sky the sun a quarter of way up. Snow covered my feet, reaching up to my thigh as I walked back into the field, finally reaching the same spot where I was last night. I cursed under my breath, there was nothing here not even foot prints as it got covered up by last nights snow. A small dip in the snow caught my eye, I stood up, walking over there slowly. The only thing that could prove what happened to me last night was the mysterious tattoo and the perfectly shaped hole. What did all of this mean? "Michael! Come back inside!" Haley's voice traveled cross the field. Of all time it had to be now. I stood there for a moment, wishing I had grabbed my phone to capture this. "Any time now!" Her voice echoed in my ears, grunting as I made my way back up the hill and to the house. "Just letting you know we're heading out for a bit." My mother passed me as I walked up the stairs to the porch. I glanced back, seeing my sister and dad following my mom. "Wait where are you guys even going?" I asked with surprise in my voice. "Don't worry we are just going shopping! She smiled as she jumped into the car. I leaned my head down, walking back up the stairs before heading back inside. The bright side of this was I had the time alone to think out loud. They drove the car off as I slammed the door, what was happening last night? That was the question that crowed my mind since it happened. I stepped into my room, turning the desktop on and searching through the Internet. First topic I brought up was alien sightings, the newest one happened in Denver, Colorado. People said that they saw a green light in the sky and that it went behind the mountains, nobody even dared to go there due to incidents up there. A video popped up, I clicked on it showing the thing people called a meteor fall from the sky and into the mountains. The video was blurry and snow covered most of it of the camera, but you could tell something green fell from the sky. I looked at the date it was posted, the date said 12/5/2014, as I read my heart nearly stopped. It happened 3 days before last night, was it a sign? Or was it really just some kind of meteorite. I strolled through the comment section, most people wrote it was fake, or that it was some kind of green screen effect. Very few actually said it was an alien and it had to have crashed landed meaning we had to help it. Hours passed as I searched through the web, numerous sightings of aliens, but each one was different from the last not a single matched the description of last night. When my fingers started to finally cramp and the sun started setting I shut the computer down, knowing I've done as much research as I could have even done. Thoughts passed through my head, a side thought was my family seemed to be gone all day. I roomed through my fridge, picking something out to eat as I got my jacket on getting to go outside. Food in my stomach was like heaven if had not eaten anything all day. I walked outside, shutting the door on my way out. The air was chilly, slamming into my face with sheer force, I covered my face up as I started walking. The house we lived in was a bit secluded, we had neighbors but we located on a field surrounded by trees, the only way to really get out was by the dirt road leading to our house. I looked up at the sky, best thing about living in a small town, the stars, when it's not covered up clouds that is. I heard a twig snap and I glance back, scanning the trees for anything. I sighed, thinking it must have been an animal. A body walked out of the trees, then a second one as I started walking faster. A shilloute stood in front me in which my body collide with, an armed reached out and I grabbed my neck collar. "That's a nice jacket you got there." A strangers voice said as he pulled out a knife.
