Chapter Four

I head to my hut and Newt follows close behind. As I walk in, he goes over to my bed and plops down. "I'm gonna quickly change." I say. "Ok." He smiles at me and grabs the book off my nightstand. I head to the bathroom and grab some clothes and change. I finally notice the blood all over me and groan. I slip my clothes off and slip into some galaxy tights with a y/f/c t shirt and then slip on the new black hoodie Newt gave me. I smile and walk out and see him lying back on my bed, reading. I smile and crawl in next to him. He wraps an arm around me, one hand holding his book and the other holding mine. I curl into his side and he starts reading to me. "Harry grabs his wand, holding it tight." I mumble along to the harry potter book before slowly falling asleep. Before I'm completely out, I hear newt whisper, I love you. I smile as I fall asleep.

I wake up and Newt is gone. I sit up and listen closely. I hear voices nearby, some I recognize, like Newt and Alby, but others are too muddled to tell. I jump up and go brush my hair and teeth. I look at myself in the mirror and my face is a little red. I splash some cold water on my face and braid my hair before throwing on some sneakers and going outside. I step outside and gasp. The sun is almost down, too far beyond the walls to see but still up enough to light the sky up. I jog over to the kitchen and I see everyone standing in line to get food. I run over and hop on the counter, sliding to the edge, next to Frypan. He chuckles and hands me a bowl. Newt walks over and leans against the counter, setting his food down. "You slept for a while." He says. "Why didn't you wake me?" I ask. "You looked so peaceful, I didn't want to wake you." He says, I ruffle his hair and we both laugh. Greenie walks up and grabs his food from Frypan, watching me. He walks off and I roll my eyes at his ignorance. I hop off the counter and go fill a glass of water. I chug it down and refill it for a second time before hopping back on the counter. "What happened while I was out?" I ask. Newt explains what happened, about the chickens escaping, Thomas dumping manure all over himself and I laugh. Newt smiles and continues. "Ben woke up and almost got me and Alby." He says, catching my attention. "What! Are you ok?!" I say, jumping down and checking him. He laughs. "I'm fine." I spin him around and continue to check him. He turns around and catches my hands in his. "Y/n." I stop and look up at him. "I'm fine, babe. I promise." I sigh and throw my arms around him and bury my face in his neck. "Good." I mumble against his neck. I pull back and look up at him. "Because if you did get hurt, I would have killed you." I say, and throw my arms around him again. He laughs and kisses the side of my head. "I'm fine." He mumbles against my hair. I jump up on the counter, my legs swinging in the air. I smile and watch everyone have fun and laugh and smile. I'm talking to Frypan when a blood curdling scream rips through the air. Everyone jumps but greenie jumps the most. Newt explains to the greenie that it's Ben and he calms down, sitting back down. Everyone calms down as Newt grabs everyone's attention. "It's just Ben. Everything is fine." The boys start sitting back down and going back to eating. Newt stands up and kisses my cheek. "I'll see you later." I smile and nod. Newt walks off towards the homestead and I continue to eat.

I head to my hut just as Newt walks out of the homestead. Newt walks over to my hut with me and steps inside with me. I smile and he lays down on the bed. "I'm gonna hop in the shower." I say. He nods, grabs my book and starts reading. I grab some clothes, underwear and a sports bra and go hop in the shower. I quickly shower and walk out and Newt see's me. He sets the book down and opens his arms. I climb in next to him and he wraps his arms around my waist and I curl close to him. He pulls the blanket up around us and I smile. He tucks me in and I slowly fall asleep.
