Nobody seemed to want to tell Shelbie that they had been seeing the same scenery for half an hour.

Not that they could. The music was extremely loud and half the car was asleep.

Stephanie had been fast asleep until her head unexpectedly fell on Parker's shoulder. When she felt herself hit his shoulder, she'd sat up a if zapped with a taser.

Parker had simply smirked and said nothing.

What the remaining students who were awake didn't know, was that they had passed the exit to the lodge fifteen long minutes ago.

Their school bus had safely arrived and the teachers were taking headcount. In five minutes time they would realize that six students that were on the list were not on the bus.

The six missing students were now ignorantly heading straight into a strong snowstorm that planned to last for days.

Parker began to kick Shelbie's seat until he finally turned down the music.

"What do you want?" Shelbie exclaimed.

"Where are we going?" Parker mimicked.

Stephanie rolled her eyes before closing them again to try and rest.

"I know what I'm doing! Don't pester me!" Shelbie already knew that he was lost, but he was sure he would find a route back around.

People were always degrading him and telling him he was stupid. Back home, as the youngest of seven, he always got the end of the stick.

He refused to allow it to continue outside of his home, especially with a jerk like Parker.

"I haven't seen a car for miles." Parker commented.

"Maybe because you're not looking." Shelbie retorted.

"Or maybe because we're in the middle of nowhere! You can hardly even see through the freaking windshield! How do you exp-"

"You're not driving!!" Shelbie yelled turning around.

"So why don't you-"

The impact of the truck hitting the car instantly snapped Shelbie's neck, though his whole body was crushed along with Charlotte's who was in the passenger's seat.

The small car flew into the air. All Parker could do was wrap his arms around Stephanie as they tumbled, being pulled and seared by their seat belts.

They were the only ones wearing their seat belts, the other two passengers rocked from their seats, tumbling back and forth and against Parker and Stephanie's bodies.

Stephanie was too terrified to even scream. All she could do was count how many times the car rolled.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, She felt the car skid and finally limply roll over on its side.

Natalia's body was pressed against Parker who was on top of Stephanie. Parker laid there unable to move. All was silent outside as if nothing had happened. The world went on, as a war began in Stephanie and Parker's heads. They were frozen in their places, unable to move, trying to think.

The only thing that woke Parker up from his stupor was Stephanie's small voice coming from beneath him.

"Parker?!" She squeaked.

Her face was wet from tears. Parker quickly pushed Natalia's body off of himself so that he could pry the door open. He kicked and fussed until he could get the bags out of the way and make space to get out of the car. Once he was able to climb out, he slowly reached in and lifted Stephanie's body out.

She fell on top of him in a heap. Before he could do anything more she scrambled to her feet to assess the damage.

It had been a good thing she had been squished in the middle with Parker. Her neck hurt a bit, and she was a bit dizzy, but other than that she was unharmed. Thanks to Parker.

She walked around to the the front of the car; the entire hood had been smashed in.

The sides of the car were also in distress from the rolling. A sound from the car had Stephanie running to it.

"Oh my goodness." She breathed. Natalia was still alive.

"Parker!" Stephanie yelled. "We have to save her!" She cried.

Natalia was barely breathing. Her ribs were broken in several places and were piercing her lungs. She would die in minutes.

"You can't just move her." Parker reasoned. "It's not safe."

He peered inside. "There's blood seeping through her shirt. I think she broke something."

"Steph..." Natalia gasped.

Stephanie was sobbing against the car as she stared at Natalia; she reached for her hand. Natalia's grip was so weak, it was hardly there. "Can't we do anything?" Stephanie wasn't exactly friends with the girl, but she couldn't let her die. "Come on Parker. I don't want to see her...." She couldn't finish the sentence aloud.

Parker pulled her away from the car. "Then don't watch." He told her. "She's going to die. There's nothing you can do." He said simply and strongly.

Stephanie pulled away from him in horror. "How can you be so heartless?!" She shouted.

She turned back to the car, but there wasn't a soul alive inside.

Parker walked over to the truck that hit them; the car had rolled about 500 feet away.

Even the truck driver was dead from the impact of his airbag. Parker stared at the blood that was rolling down the sides of his airbag. "Go back." He told Stephanie, who had followed him. She didn't need to see what the airbag had done to the man's face.

They made their way back to the car and Stephanie wearily searched for her bag, trying not to look at the bodies. She couldn't see much through the screen of tears in her eyes.

The pink stripe from her duffel bag stuck out and she tugged on the straps, crying harder as she pulled it out from underneath Natalia.

Her eyes wandered to the front; Stephanie gasped in horror when she saw that Shelbie's neck was twisted at an odd angle. His eyes were bulging out of his head.

She backed away slowly, breathing hard until she backed into Parker.

He was holding up their coats which he'd retrieved from the trunk. Stephanie mindlessly pulled on her sweater and then her coat suddenly realizing she was freezing.

Parker then handed her mittens and a scarf.

"T-these a-are yours." She said through her chattering teeth. Parker shrugged and quickly pulled on his coat, rummaging through the trunk and handing her a pair of boots.

"These aren't mine." Stephanie protested.

Parker pressed them into her hands. "Are you kidding me?! Put them on!" He exclaimed.

Stephanie glared at him but changed her sneakers anyways. She was immediately grateful. Even with her socks on, once her feet came into contact with the icy air, her toes began to freeze. She quickly shoved her feet into the furry boots and tied them.

She then joined Parker at the trunk to search for a hat.

They dressed in silence. There wasn't anything good to talk about at the moment.

When they finished, the only visible part of their bodies was their eyes.
