I need you like the grass needs the rain, you are the rain that makes me feel alive
You were working with four hours of sleep as by 8 am your father was in your room telling you to get up because you weren't allowed to lay around the whole day and were going to come with your parents to the restaurant to help out. Did you want to, no. Did you have another choice, no. Aside from that you had decided to text Jennie, asking if you could talk with her, it was almost 5 pm and she still hadn't answered you. You badly wanted to talk to her and apologise, just talk it out with her but there wasn't a single answer from her...it was simply because she was ignoring you and you couldn't even be mad at her for it. If anything, you deserved it. It made your self-hatred grow and a heavy sadness was left in your chest together with fear. The thought of her abandoning you kept wandering your mind and you felt anxious just like every time she wouldn't answer. "Go feed the leftover tuna to that fat orange cat in the back, he's been waiting the whole day." Your dad called out from the kitchen while placing a plate of tuna slices in the window between the kitchen and the bar at the restaurant. You took the plate and stopped when your dad spoke again. "You can go after...if you aren't heading home, remember to be home by 10:30 pm and text your mum who you are with. Do not make me throw your phone out the window this time." He warned and you replied with a yes.
You grabbed your things on the way to the back of the restaurant, the second you opened the back door and walked out with the plate you were attacked with high-pitched meows, the cat sounding like it was being skinned alive. You crouched down as he was rubbing himself on your legs and patted his back. "Here you go, Fat boy." You said and placed the plate down, the chubby orange cat that you referred to as fat boy got to eating right away as you watched him. He purred while eating and you sighed, taking out your phone while crouched down beside him and looking to see if Jennie had answered you, but there was nothing. You decided to try a second text just in case and asked her to just meet you if she could, you would just wait whether you got a response or not, mostly because you didn't want to be at home. You sent her the text and looked up at the sky that was gloomy since yesterday night. You didn't want to be annoying in any way and didn't send much more to her, afraid she would get even more mad at you.
You looked at your phone in an instant when it vibrated, but you felt sadness wash over you when you saw that it was just the group chat with your friends and not Jennie. They were planning to go out today too, but you just ignored them because you weren't in the mood to text or talk to anyone that wasn't Jennie. She didn't have work on weekends, she did at times but rarely and this wasn't one of them. It hurt a bit to just get ignored by her even if you deserved it, but a simple no would at least make you look like less of a fool. What could you do though? You were a fool for your girlfriend. You just wanted a word from her to know that she was fine because it worried you that you got no answers from her.

"Come on, why do you look so gloomy, Jennie," Lisa questioned the girl as she used both her hands to pour the soju into Jennie's shot glass. Jennie held it for her and watched the clear liquid fill the glass. She assumes that it would be easier to deal with relationship problems if she could talk about them to someone, but that wasn't a choice. "I'm just tired after all the work this week." She replied instead, it was a half-lie because she was tired after all the work she had done this week, but arguments with you drained her fully every time. She hated to argue with you, but it was inevitable because fights and disagreements happened so it was fine as long as you two worked it out which you always did. She had hurt herself more than you by making you cry and she had a hard time letting that go, she hurt herself more than you hurt her, it weighed her chest and she felt horrible for abusing her power like that. Whenever she became the source of your pain, she died a little on the inside and that always hurt more than anything else she ever experienced. But before she could talk it out with you she needed to think everything through so she wouldn't explode again. "Or maybe you're missing your best friend and don't enjoy our company anymore," Jisoo commented in a teasing manner although it was also a genuine question.
