Aime had sent for the teens to gather in the lobby. She all gave them clothes that made them look like they were ready for a safari. They awkwardly shuffled around in their new clothes, wondering what the dream demon had in store for them.

She soon appeared in a puff of smoke, clasping her hands together. She was wearing the same outfit as well. "Look how cute you all look! I could just pinch your cheeks!" Aime then reached over to grab ahold of Shuutaro's cheek. He begrudgingly let her do it, not having the heart to tell the woman off.

"Alright you four, today you're going on a treasure hunt!" Aime instructed as she retracted her hand.

"Does the prize happen to be a one way ticket out of here?" Nabiki quipped, one hand on hip.

Aime laughed. "Ohoho, not quite. The prize is one phone call to a person of your choosing." That caught the teens' attention. Even if it wasn't a way out of there, if they could call someone to help them it was as good as done.

Aime started pacing with her hands behind her back. "However, only one pair can win and only one phone call is offered. So choose who you'd like to call wisely. You also only have until tonight to find it." She poofed up four maps for each of them. "The treasure is marked on these maps, the trolley will take you as far as the edge of the jungle. Good luck!"

The trolley ride was long and quiet as they avoided each other's eyes. It was a competition after all. Once they were dropped off, they gathered in pairs with their maps and backpacks.

They had packed as much food and essentials to get through this dense jungle so they wouldn't starve.

Shuutaro and Kuno had also brought their weapons with them in case they came across a hostile animal or worse; each other.

They split up, taking paths they believed would be faster.

Nabiki took the lead in front of Kuno, carefully stepping on stones to avoid stepping into the shallow river. Kuno followed her steps.

"When we win this, we're calling my father.

Kuno tilted his head. "Why must we do everything your way? We'll call my sister."

Nabiki scoffed, upturning her nose. "You really think Kodachi would come save you? She'd probably leave you here."

Kuno shook his head solemnly. "Kodachi can't live without me. She'd be miserable. She hardly wanted me to leave on this trip with you."

"Really?" Nabiki was mildly surprised to hear this.

"Indeed." Kuno said. "As the man of the house, I must take good care of my sister until she is married. However, if that happens to be Ranma Saotome, I'll never let her leave with him."

Nabiki ducked under a tree brank, slowing down for Kuno. "You think Ranma would be a bad husband for Kodachi?"

"In fact, Ranma would be a bad husband for Akane!"

Nabiki glared at him as be approached. "And you would be better?"

Kuno sniffed. "Infinitely."

Nabiki rolled her eyes and continued on without him. "Oh you're so full of yourself."

"What?" Kuno blinked, delaying in following her. "What makes you think I won't? If I had listened to that fortune teller, you could've been my wife. I would've treated you like a queen."

"Is that so?" Nabiki pulled back a branch as she walked by and let it hit Kuno in the face.

The leaves got all inside his mouth. As he spoke, he spat them out. "Why... Must you hate me so?"

"Because you're awful." Nabiki had his back towards him.

"That makes two of us."

***

Shuutaro took the lead, letting Shinobu trail behind him. He was cutting down a path for her, removing foliage with his katana.

It went without saying that Shuutaro would call us family to come rescue them. They had their own personal military force. He had just hoped his sister wouldn't be the one to pick up the phone or else they're doomed.

"So... Hot." Shinobu whined as she trudged along, sweat dripping down her forehead.

"Agreed. Let's stop here for a moment." Shuutaro sheathed his sword and placed his backpack down onto the roots of a tree.  He unbuttoned his shirt, revealing a tank top underneath. It helped to cool him off a bit.

This caused Shinobu to be distracted. "Hot..." she murmured, only this time she wasn't talking about the jungle heat.

Shuutaro pulled out a canteen of water and took a swig, offering it to Shinobu.

At last, an indirect kiss!

Shinobu took the canteen grateful, taking her time as she placed her lips on the opening. Although, she felt immediate embarrassment as she did so.

Indirect kisses... Psh. Childish things.

Once Shinobu got her fill of water, she handed the canteen back to him.

"Let's keep going now," he said while packing, "we can't allow those two to win."

Shinobu nodded. "We don't want to be stuck here forever..."

"Or at least until..." Shuutaro trailed off.

Until one of them confesses their feelings. However neither of them wanted to make the first move. They still wanted to go home as soon as possible, so the time limit was quite grating.

Despite Shuutaro not finishing his sentence, Shinobu dipped her head. "Mm." Seemed that Kuno and Nabiki would be in the same spot as them. Only that it seemed like they hated each other.

Shinobu would feel bad if they ended up stranded here forever, forced to grow old together. But it was a matter of survival now.

"We'll rest at night." Shuutaro announced. "No use meandering around in the dark and getting lost." He had to stop his teeth from chattering at the mere mention of the dark. They'd have to make a fire as soon as they can or else his terrified screams would alert every animal in the vicinity.

He would hate for Shinobu to be put in danger because of his fear of the dark.
