Bad Day

Early Morning
I woke up to hear nails clipping against the hard cave floor.Except they weren't mine.I slowly stood up and searched for the machete.I grabbed it in my hand and waited in the cave corner.I heard sniffling and what ever it was was getting close.I raised my arms over my head and threw it down.I heard a whimper and more nail clipping except it was heading out the cave door.I ran to the mouth of the cave and threw the machete.I heard a thump and then a thud.I ran down the path to the animal.It was too injured to hurt me so I grabbed it and surprisingly it was light.I held it like I would hold my dog and my dog was small.I hope that I didn't injure a lost puppy.I laid the animal on the cave floor and covered it with my old shirt.I went to the back of the cave again and went to sleep.

When I woke up I saw a beautiful sunrise.The animal incident came back to me and I almost cried.I walked to the mouth of the cave and got a huge surprise.A wolf pup was laying on its side.His fur was caked with blood.I felt so bad.The little pup looked at me and whimpered.I walked over to it and bent down."Hey little fella."I whispered.I reached my hand out and felt the machete mark.He growled at me and tried to bite my hand.I took my hand away and sat against the wall."Where's your mama?"I ask the pup,as if he understood me.It growled again.It turned away from me and started to lick the blood from his fur.He whimpered each time he licked.I scooted closer.He turned around and moved to the back of the cave.I scooted closer.He scooted back.I scooted closer and on and on it went until he hit the back of the cave.I scooted closer this time.He growled and bared his teeth at me.I scooted back a little."Ok fine if u don't want me to help."I said to him.I hopped up and grabbed my machete.He just laid there and stared at me."well see ya."I said to mist.That's what I was calling him.I walked down the rocky path to the sand.I walked into the woods and found the tree.I started chopping off branches and shaped them the same size.When I was done I carried them up to ledge of the cave.I took the rope like plant that I found and tied the branches together.I went back to the woods and grabbed the palm leaves.I dragged them back to the ledge and laid them on top the the limbs.I then tied the palm leaves and limbs together making a door for the cave so no more animals could come in.I set it at the mouth of the cave a perfect fit but it kept sliding.I tried again and again.I threw it down in frustration.I ran down the rocky path to blow of my steam and then I slipped.I tumbled down the path,hitting my leg on almost every rock.When I finally stopped my body was bloody and bruised."Ahhhh!"I said as I felt my leg.It had a huge bruise on it already and the gash was bigger.I started to cry.Everything wasn't working out right!First the wolf,then the door,and know this.😩I sat there for at least 5 minutes crying.I felt something nudge my arm.I jumped,it was mist."Hey boy."I said.I guess he got used to me.I started to raise my hand to pet.He backed away."Come on mist,I won't hurt you."I say,trying again.He slowly lifted his head and nudged my hand.I stroked his head.After 10 minutes I finally got up and limped to the water.I waded into the water.It was soo cold.I washed the cut clean and my body.I was dusty,sweaty,and bloody.I swam out a little ways and drank some of the water.It had no taste but it was satisfying.When I got out of the water I went back to the cave and got an idea.I grabbed the sharpest,biggest rocks I could find and propped the door up.The mouth of the cave had my door against it with medium sized rocks that were jagged at the end.On the very top of the door was an opening.I made a stairway with rocks to the top."Sweet."I say.I had left my berry bottle on the beach so I ran down there and got it.I ate the berries fast and rinsed the bottle out.Then I filled it up with the sweet water.As I was walking up to the cave my foot got stuck in a hole.When I got unstuck I got a huge surprise.Eggs.I don't know who's but they looked good.I ran up to the cave and threw my water bottle into it.I climbed the stairs and grabbed my bowl from the top shelf.(a bowl I made when I was sitting in the rocks)I climbed the door and went down the steps.I had to hurry cause it was the time for dangerous animals to come out.I grabbed as many eggs that could fit in the bowl and buried the eggs with sand.I climbed the path to my cave and slipped in.As I was sliding in I saw a huge,dark object in the berry bush.When I got a better look I saw that it was a black bear.I ran inside and put the eggs on the top shelf."Mist."I whispered.I didn't get a reply.I went to the cave door and climbed to the top.The bear was closer to the cave this time.He was smelling something,most likely the eggs or my scent.I saw mist napping in front on the cave ledge."Mist."I whispered.His ear twitched."Mist!"I yelled,noticing the bear saw me.This time he jumped up and saw me.He started wagging his tail."Mist,get in here."I said.He tilted his head,not understanding."Uggh!"I groaned.I hopped out of the safety of the cave ,and walked down the steps.The bear was running toward the cave know."Come on mist."I said.I grabbed my pup and started walking up the stairs.It felt like nails were digging into my back and then hot nails.I tossed my pup into the cave and turned around in time to see the bear's claw come down onto my cheek.I pushed the bear down the rocky path and climbed into my cave.I landed on the ground hard and crawled to the shelves.I grabbed my machete,the fight wasn't over.I climbed the door again and peeked over.The bear was climbing the path up to the cave.I stepped out on to
stairs and braced my self.It came charging this time and I ran at it too.When we made contact I shoved my machete into its stomach and quickly took it out.The bear roared in pain and clawed me in my leg.Always my leg,I thought.I backed up this time and the bear pinned me against the cave wall.I tripped over one of the rocks and fell back.The bear was about done with me when I heard a growl and saw Mist jump out onto the bear.He clawed and bit the bear.He jumped of him and the bear ran back down the trail."Mist,oh my gosh thanks!"I said to him.Mist looked at me with his blue eyes and I noticed his wounds.He had cuts on his stomach,legs,and face."Come on boy,"I said grabbing him carefully in my arms,"Let's clean our selves up."We couldn't go done to the water in fear of the other animals so we went back into the cave.I tried the best I could to patch up mist first.When I was done I grabbed my extra clothes and set out a pallet for Mist up on the shelf next to my bed.I then looked at my injuries.The gash on my leg was bigger know thanks to the bear and my cheek was swollen.I grabbed the bandages and alcohol wipes then went to work.The wipes burned but I had gotten used to that.I then wrapped my leg in some soft leaves I had found and held them together with a bandage.I put one on my face and then went up to my bed.Mist had dragged my clothes onto my bed and was fast asleep.I hugged mist goodnight and went to sleep.
