The Storm

In the morning we ate the breakfast powders and got started.In the survival kit they had 2 small water jugs that I went and filled with water.Bailey handled food and Andi handled fire wood.Of course being careful.When I was done I walked up to the cave and set them on the water shelves.We had 3.Water,food,and wood.Plus our beds.I went out to find Bailey and brought my basket.I found her under a mango tree."Hey"I said."Hey,what's up?"she asks,putting another mango into her basket."Getting ready for a really bad storm."I say casually.She chuckles."Me too.""Do you miss them?"I ask her,picking a mango."Yea,a lot."she says."Me too."I say.We continue picking mangos."Is there any more fruit?"I ask."Yea,this way."she replies,making a motion to follow her.I follow her down the beach until we reach a bunch of fruit trees.Bananas,oranges,peaches and a ton more.I get to picking.I fill my pockets,bowl and come back for 3rds."This should be enough."I say,trying not to drop the fruits.When I got into the cave I see Andi putting huge logs and sticks onto the shelf."Hey."I say putting the water jugs on the shelf."hey"she mumbles back.I hear a sniffle."Hey,what's wrong?"I ask her.She turns around and hugs me,she starts to sob."We're never going to get off this island."she says."Yes we are,it's ok."I say,trying to comfort her.Her sobs turn into muffles which turned into snoring."Andi?"I ask her.She had fallen asleep.I chuckle.I carry her to her bed and lay her down.I cover her with her blanket and head out.When I shut the door I feel a tap on my shoulder.I turn around."oh hey bails."I say."Hey,what happened?"she asks,pointing at the cave."Andi thinks we're never going to get home."I laugh.She doesn't though."She's right you know."she says."What?"I ask,getting serious."You know why we haven't gotten off?Cause this is a remote island where no one goes and no planes ever go across it!"she cries."Bailey,I promise.I will get you off this island."I say bear hugging her.She sobs and everything with Andi happens with her.I take her to her bed and cover her up."Night y'all."I say.I walk out of the cave and get back to work.I catch a ton of fish and get more fruit.I put that stuff in the cave and head back out.I collect more wood and head back to the cave.It was sunset and the storm would be here tomorrow.When I get into the cave I get a huge surprise.Fireflies are glowing and flying everywhere.Beautiful hibiscus flowers,🌺,of different colors coated the cave.A perfect fire was set in the middle of the cave.Andi and Bailey were dressed in what looked like my dresses wearing makeup.The feast of powdered foods was set on the shelves and our sleeping bags were set beside the fire.Mist was as white as snow.I guess he had a bath."Surprise!"they yelled."Cause of everything you've done for us we are doing the feast!"Bailey said."Go get bathed and wear this."she said handing me my favorite blue designer dress."ok"I say.I run down to the beach and scrub up.Being careful not to hit my stitches.I slip my blue dress on and go back to the cave."How do I look?"I ask.Bailey gives me a thumbs up and Andi smiles."Come here,I'll brush your hair."Andi says."Oooo I'll do your makeup!"Bailey says.When I'm fully done we get our feast on."So where did you get these dresses and makeup."I asked."In your plane,before we knew you had survived."Andi said,eating an egg."Oh."I say.The storm had started but we hadn't really noticed.Just then a huge boom of thunder and then a crack of lightning hit.We stopped laughing.Mist started to whimper.I went to the door and peeked out.The water was up to the bottom up the rocky trail.The wind was blowing super hard and the rain was pouring down.I turned around"Well we did know this was going to be a big storm."I say."True."Bailey laughs.I walk back to the fire and start talking again.When I sit down the fire hisses and goes out.The storm outside has gotten worse."Listen,grab your packs and load as much food and water as possible into it.Grab your sleeping bags and pillows,meet me at the back of the cave."I say.I grab all my things quick and run to the back of the cave.Andi and Bailey meet me back there.At the back of the cave you could barely see the front."We're safe here."I say.We lay out our sleeping bags and pillows.Then we change back into our regular clothes."Night y'all."I say."Night."they say together.Mist lays down beside me and goes to sleep.As do I.
