The screen buzzed once more, showing Aether and Paimon back in Mondstadt to report back to Jean. They saw Jean near the Grand Goth Hotel and slowly approached it.

"Isn't that Jean?"

It was indeed the Acting Grandmaster. But instead of her warm expression, she held a serious face as she talked with a Fatuus diplomat names Anastasia.

"Seems she's talking to someone..."

"Let's let her finish, then go say hi?"

The screen then focuses on Jean and Anastasia's conversation.

"...which is what has brought us to this point in the first place. If you are unable to promptly deal with the Stormterror threat, then leave the defense of Mondstadt to the Fatui. We can put an end to Mondstadt's dragon issues. All we need to do is bring that monster to the—"

There were outraged gasps from Mondstadt's side.

"Monster?! How dare they!"

"Hmph. Fatui. Bastards as always. Meddlesome bunch."

Zhongli looked at his old drunkard friend from the corner of his eye and saw him only smiling with his eyes closed. Yet the armrest he was griping had cracked and his smile was twitching and didn't look genuine one bit. He could only sigh as he diverted Nahida from looking at Venti's enraged state. An adult about to explode is not a good sight for a child.

""Monster"?"

It was clear that the Jean on the screen had took that as an insult to Mondstadt, Barbatos, and Dvalin. Yet the diplomat didn't seem to catch on to it nor care, what with her continuous frivolous attitude. Diluc and Eula gritted their teeth at the obvious lack of respect from the Fatuus for a leader of another nation.

"How utterly disgusting. No respect nor manners at all. If it was me, mark my words, vengeance will be mine! Is this the standard for Snezhnayan diplomats now? If so, how dissappointing."

"Yes. What's your point?"

"Ah... I'd expect a more professional attitude from your diplomats. Yet here you are saying you want to "put an end" to one of The Four Winds of Mondstadt. I won't have any of this nonsense in front of the Knights of Favonius."

Jean was one second away from drawing her sword at that moment yet she held on for Mondstadt.

"Heh... Hehehe... It's not as crazy as you make it sound. Fine. That's enough negotiation for today. At this stage it's simply... an amicable exchange of constructive opinions, no? I'll be sure to make... thorough notes..."

"... Pulcinella. Have I not said it before?"

"Yes Your Majesty. I shall see to it."

When Aether saw that Anastasia had left Jean alone, he approached the Acting Grandmaster with Paimon in tow. Seeing Aether, Jean's face seemed to relax a bit as her usual smile formed on her face.

"Oh, Aether, you're back. Thanks for your help. The elemental flow is finally stable. The aftermath of Stormterror's last attack is finally settled for the moment. However, the pressure from the delegation has become too big to be ignored..."

When Jean mentioned the delegation, her face seemed to turn stressed as she lightly touched the side of her head.

"Delegation? From Liyue Harbor or Inazuma City?"

"Snezhnaya. They choose to follow the God of Cryo."

'...Old friend...'

Venti's face had turned a bit sad at the mention of his old friend.
