Another day of school. It's really getting draggy now. I'm so tired of it. I have no motivation to do crap. So I sit through the classes with my head down on the desk. Only move to get to a different class.
Nobody notices me. Nobody talks to me. I guess I like it like that. But sometimes I wish I could be a part of something.

After a few classes I head to the lunch room. I wasn't hungry so I just sat at the first round table I saw. Still tired, so I put my head back down. The dark little box I had made from my arms was so still and black. I felt like the world was quivering back and forward, from my left ear to my right, the pace of a washing machine. I listen to the frivolous conversations. Unable to make out what anyone is saying.
Then I heard voices grow closer and the table vibrated as book bags were thrown onto it. The world stopped pivoting. I look up and saw four guys and a girl. They were full of energy.
"Hey, theres no more tables so we're sitting here." One guy said.
"Yeah, hope ya don't mind." Another one said looking around.
They sat down their trays and continued talking about things.

I recognized these kids. They are the ones from the back of the science class that throw cards.
"Hi! My names Jasmine!" The one girl said sitting next to me. She had short black layered hair with bright blue tips. She was kinda short and wore a leather jacket and a pink and blue skirt, with skulls hidden in the flowers. Her smile was sweet.
"Hi. I'm scott." I said back.
"Oh cool. I see you around a lot. Have you meet these crazies? They are my friends." She said pointing to the other kids at the table. They looked at me with crooked smiles as they talked and ate that nasty school lunch. Jasmine continued to introduce me to them.

"So thats Austin." she said pointing to a super tall and scrawny blond guy. He looked at me with bright blue eyes and bucked teeth.
"This is Michael." She said shoving her finger into the kid next to her. Michael was busy talking to Austin about woman.
"And over there is Derek."
Derek, that's the one that throws the cards.

I always saw derek throughout the year in random places. If you are walking down a hallway, or sitting in a class, and see a card fly by your head -you knew Derek was around.

I looked at the group of kids. "Oh, and who's that?" I asked pointing to the kid across the circular table from me. He had brown hair, and he wasn't talking.
"Oh yeah! That's..."
"I'm Tommy." Tommy interrupted Jasmine.
"Yeah. Tommy." She leaned in close to me, "He's the shyest one." She told me. I looked at the boy. His sad green eyes stared back. Some people's eyes tell their whole story.

We all sat together; I felt like a part of them, a little. I listened to their conversation. It was mainly about vaginas and dicks, and worse stuff. It was sometimes funny though. I never laughed so much before.

Derek occasionally threw a card across the cafeteria. He got it stuck on a window seal near the ceiling. I wondered why he did this all the time.
"Hey Derek, how are you going to get back your card? It's stuck now up there forever." I asked him.

Derek looked at me as if he had a secret. "That's the point." He mumbled in a soft australian? accent or something. "It'll be up there forever...Look..."
He showed me several hidden cards. They were stuck in the most unnoticed cracks around the room. "I got many more up in that lamp." He pointed up to a light hanging from the ceiling. His voice was hard to hear. He throws cards away as if he had millions more at home.

When they finished eating they started putting on their bags to take up their trays. As they started to walk away Jasmine asked if I wanted to come. I didn't have my dice to decide, but I went anyways. I followed them to an empty area behind the cafeteria.

They started kicking around a hacky sack. Me and Jasmine sat on the ground next to a wall.
"Um, are we allowed to be back here?" I asked glancing around.
"Yea, we always come back here." Jasmine answered. She had dimples on her cheeks that were kinda cute. We watched them play hacky sack. It was darker back here.

"Hey Scott, think I could beat up Derek?" Jazmin asked making a fist in place of his head.
"You're so small..." I started "he's got muscle. I don't think..."
She laughed "Yeah you're probably right. I just want to beat someone up." She said with such a nice girls grin.
"Beat me up." I said smiling back.
She giggled and said "I could never beat you up. You look too innocent."
I laughed as I stared at the glossy floor.

Jasmin joined their hacky sack circle. I watched from the background as the sack went up into the air, came back down just to be smacked across the floor. Then some other kids showed up.

"Make room. I'm playing." A gangster looking guy and his buddies joined. "Serve it!"
Austin missed the kick.
"Come on, Too-Tall. You suck." The jerk-seeming kid said with a humorous mean face.
Michael back kicked it high. Tommy kicked it higher, hitting the ceiling. Random laughs came out of Jasmine as she skipped to get a drink of water from the water fountain. Her skirt bounced.

My butt hurt from sitting on the floor. So I stood up. They weren't noticing me. So I grabbed my bag, and waved goodbye; even though nobody was looking. I left their outbursting remarks and laughs.
